HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

I hope for his sake not so much that he stays healthy, that would be the second most important thing I hope happens to him, but the most important thing I hope happens to Desoto is that Beck is fired. Here's to hoping Dontre!

What else was he going to do? I think next year we see more of Dontre in the H spot.

Samuel will be at rb more, Marshall out wide so Dontre is finally going to have the spot without a log jam

Agreed! Marshall, Brown and Smith will be the receivers. Samuel at RB and Wilson at HB. JT at QB, Baugh at TE, and Jones, Price, Elfien, Lisle and Prince the OL. The makings of another really good Offense.

I've seen a bunch of folks say this but I think next year's line can potentially be better than this year's... here's why.

Eflien moving to center is a upgrade IMO over Boren. Love Boren but eflien is taller and heavier and obviously is a NFL caliber talent. Price with another year is obviously better too. To take it one step further I think Prince will be a upgrade over Farris as well who is a past defensive tackle. So 3 of the 5 imo are upgraded but there's no doubt you feel the loss of Decker. You do plug Jones in there though which definitely helps. Then you are more than likely adding Know or Burrell at the other gourd spot which could make for a excellent interior line.

Back to Dontre though I just hope he gets healthy. We need him to step up and give us that horizontal threat that we know he can be. Dude is fast and has good vision so if he just stays healthy and keeps working on his strength he will go out strong (no pun intended)

I don't understand why he had to tweet his return. I figures it was a given since he's never even had a breakout game, let alone a breakout year in order for him to be drafted in the late rounds. Wish him the best next season and hope he can stay healthy to utilize his speed and vision in mismatches.

Seems to me the culture has shifted to expecting everyone to leave early. I know a lot of people have assumed that with some underclassmen this year. Maybe they're right for assuming a good number leave, but I still don't think this is the norm. We simply have had a lot of guys who've been in key or starting roles for 2 or 3 seasons and after you've excelled in those situations, what else do you have to prove?

EDIT: For Dontre, this is not the case. So, it's odd that he felt the need to clarify what we already figured was going to happen.

I can understand that. But Dontre is not one of those players...
