On average it'd be about 3 litres worth or greater if inactive. The problem comes when it's not excreted. The threshold would be much higher for someone engaged in physical activity, since a healthy person could sweat out nearly 1 litre worth of fluids in under an hour.

My understanding is that before you drown you dilute your blood to where you croak from cerebral edema. Now and then an ecstasy user dies from drinking too much water.
