what a bunch of douche bags. rushing the court after beating a #23 team should be a capital offense.

its cool that they may make the tourney now as long as we are OK.

Couple of observations as to why the crowd rushed the court:

-This win (against a ranked opponent) gave PSU some kind of season record, either overall or Big Ten, I don't know because I didn't pay attention to the annoying announcers.

-There wasn't much of a casual fan contingent, this game was pumped up early & often around campus....believe it was declared a whiteout either by PSU, or by the PSU BBall student section - and that obviously went well as their was a whiteout crowd.

-The way the game was won, final second(s) heroics by Talor Battle (a godsend for the PSU BBall program, and BTW his stepbrother Taran Buie, a BIG-TIME...BIG-TIME recruit was once again in attendance for a PSU game)

-On Wednesday, Joe Paterno met with the PSU BBall team and had a talk with them...

-Prior to the game, PSU starting QB Daryll Clark took the mic out to center court and fired the entire crowd up. At one point saying, '"Man, I'm so hype right now, I want to put on a jersey and dunk on someone!"' Daryll has been at numerous PSU BBall games, as have other players...former PSU DL Tamba Hali as well as Deon Butler were on hand, as well as PSU DL Devon Still, LB Sean Lee, WR Brett Brackett, DL Chimaeze Okoli was there tonight (believe he is a cousin to the Bobcat's PF Emeka Okafur). This game probably punched our NCAA ticket, so it wasn't just storming the court because we beat a ranked team.

We're not tOSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, or whatever other successful Big 10 BBall programs there are, programs that expect to win and do so year in and year out. Big season for mens BBall, and I'm just glad the kids got the support at home for a possible NCAA tournament clinching win, I was thoroughly grateful that they got some love for all their dedication and hard work.

As anyone knows, PSU is a football school, period...but it is nice to have an enjoyable BBall team, one that is fun too watch and can have success. Recruiting is going to kill us if we can't keep the momentum going, we've got a good freshman SG from TX in Chris Babb that has played some, and the reigning defensive H.S. player of the year/top 10-15 PG on ESPN in TX PG Tim Frazier...but we need more (especially bigs). We've got Battle for two more years, and if Buie and Reagan (much longer shot than Buie) come on board I think you'll see PSU have another 2 or 3 seasons that are far from normal for PSU BBall.

Well, we need to beat NW and win a game in the B10 Tourney, otherwise, this may have been a dagger to our hearts. I hate Penn State.

I disagree. If we beat NW, we're in. We don't need to do both. PSU will lose at Iowa this weekend, so they'll be 21-10, 10-8. If we beat NW this weekend, we'll be 20-9, 10-8. PSU's out of conference schedule was atrocious (the only two teams of consequence they played were Temple and URI, and PSU lost both games). Plus we've got a better winning percentage. Plus we beat them by 14 head-to-head.

PSU's win didn't do us any favors last night, but we're still ahead of them right now in terms of getting a shot in the NCAA tournament. Now, all of that could change if we lose to NW, they win at Iowa, or they make a run in the Big Ten tournament.

Illinois lost the game because they slowed it down to protect a lead. I felt as if I were watching John Cooper against TSUN. They were running PSU into a hole, then they slowed it down and took shots from the perimeter.

The Illini got a bad call in the late going but benefited from two bad calls that gave them a four point cushion they did not deserve beforehand.

Cornley played despite pulling shoulder muscle or something. He was in obvious pain but gutted it out. Had he stayed out with the injury I don't think PSU would have won.

The 20 million + vbucks is from being an internet gigolo?

Not likely. I can't get 'em to sleep with me for free, they sure as heck aren't going to pay me for it.

My initial capital came from donations to BP and the current balance is almost exclusively a result of the "Will Boeckman be benched?" bet. I suck at vbetting.

No offense, but no way was that an NCAA tournament clinching win. PSU still needs to win at Iowa and/or at least one game in the Big Ten tourney in order to get a spot in the NCAA tournament, IMO. If PSU loses those two games, they won't even be considered a bubble team.

Plus you have to factor in the teams that are going to win their tourney's who weren't ever considered NCAA tourney teams. Somebody else besides Memphis winning the CUSA tourney fucks over a "deserving" bubble team.

God I love this shit

I think Weber did some pretty stupid things in the last 30 seconds to give Penn State the win. He might as well have mailed it in a was so gracious. First, you do not inbound the ball to one of your poorest in the backcourt when you're better free-throw shooters were also available. Also, why the hell did he take Tisdale out of the game for the last 7+ seconds only to see a Penn State guy make a layup. Tisdale would have stuffed that shot.
Nice win for PSu , it's refreshing to see one of the doormats do so well.
