Chris Dufresne, in today's L.A. Times writes about USC's win over VT. He states "It wasn't an entirely impressive performance..." and, "USC figures to benefit from the dropping of SoS from the BCS formula."
He does compliment Norm Chow the USC offensive coordinator...and a coach I consider an offensive genius:
"The entertaining part is watching how (Chow) moves Bush (RB with 3 TDs) around the field until he finds a mismatch Bush can exploit. Bush's last TD...was executed when Bush found himself covered in the right flat by VT linebacker Warren. See ya."
"Warren had no chance of covering Bush and fell down trying... Chow also illustrated fearlessness as one of the secrets to great play calling."
I suppose most OC's attempt the same thing in games, but Chow (at BYU and now at SC), seems to be a master at these type of analyses to enhance his offensive attacks.
Frankly, I wish VT had won or at least made the game closer, but with Chow as OC, USC will be hard to match on offense...the USC D is another matter.
