But I'm sure he's hearing that the products mean nothing if you're on the bench... He has the position most likely from Day 1 at Rutgers. Not so much at OSU
Could be. But all he needs is one year as the starter here to position himself for the draft. He can go ahead and maybe start for 3-4 years at a crap program and likely not even sniff a conference division title, or he can come to a premier program and, while maybe not playing as much, get a whole bunch of hardware...

At the end of the day, kids want to be able to showcase their talents to make it to the NFL. Doing that for one year is very dangerous but being able to do that for 1-3yrs is a better way for teams to gauge your talents. All the hardware means nothing at the next level if you're not earning it. Kids(top ranked at that) don't want trophies by default and watching someone else earn them

You gotta have a place to showcase those talents first. Cardale Jones is the hottest QB commodity in college football right now, and he started all of three games. How is that? His three starts were in front of huge national television audiences, and two of those starts were the top two highest-rated cable broadcasts of all-time. Rutgers may get on national TV once or twice a year, and even then will likely get stomped.

I see your point that a true superstar player will get recognized regardless of where they play, but it's much easier to get attention at a top-tier program.

IDK if I'd go that far. Because if that were true you would not see UK in basketball be as dominant as they are now or Alabama (and hopefully OSU now) be dominant in football. I suppose I see your point specifically for QB since most other positions you can get action for 2-3 years and at QB it could be closer to 1-2 years, but I still don't see a place like Alabama or UK struggling to stockpile talent and tell them "wait your turn, win a couple championships, then win some more as a starter."

Desoto 2 looks like a good back up but when people compare both players and say they are fairly equal......I don't see it. JG looks like a total superstar in the making to me. Kid just jumps off the screen to me. I wanted DeShaun Watson pretty bad too but at this point I'd say JG is the most coveted QB recruit for me in quite a while.

Agree with ShowMe. JG has that "it" factor. Although at this point, I'm totally convinced that a quarterback doesn't have to be an all out superstar, he just needs to make good reads and not turn it over. That being said, I'd gladly have superstar like we already have for years to come. Go bucks!
