I hate weighing in on this thread, and I'm feeling a bit soiled having clicked that link (i'm not one for flashy Nike swag, or whatever the kids are calling it these days) but this:

I'm just wondering how well this will work with both teams in red unis, since Bama's is a similar color as well, and I'm guessing Nike wouldn't bother making these game-ready mockups if the team isn't going to actually wear them on the field. Surprised they'd be allowed to do this. Or is it because these are exhibition games the uni rules don't completely apply?

I don't think there is any way both teams were their respective reds. There will most definitely be an away Ohio State Uni. White on gray is what I am guessing.

But we would be the away team in both games as the #4 seed. I guess if we play Oregon in the final the special unis would work, but releasing them with wording that strongly suggests they will actually be worn when I don't think they'll be allowed to is slightly confusing. I know they're to make money (and they will), but if they don't actually wear them, they're probably not going to sell nearly as well after the pre-order rush and after the games are played when they don't wear them.

Of course, the whole alternate unis thing is ridiculous to begin with.

It's been reported by Eleven Warriors and Nike that there are both home and away jerseys have been created for each team for the playoffs.

Im assuming the only way that the Buckeyes would wear them is if a team defers to their road unis or if we play oregon.

I think the majority of fans will be more apt to buy a home replica jersey this month rather than the away jersey. The preview is more to get fans excited and to drive sales before Christmas.
