Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

Have some interesting info, but it's not 100%.

I know of a place that will be selling the jerseys that will be worn for The Game, and I'm pretty sure they're the hideous ones that everyone hates.

Don't know for sure yet.. but it doesn't look good. :(

You mean the ones that have been on display in a chicago store for months?

Thought whoever said that said they were on display. Doesn't necessarily mean they're on sale.

But the point was that this store is getting the uniforms that are being worn for The Game, and that was the picture I saw. It's not for sure, but they were pretty sure.

I think he could be correct...

If you look at the picture that's been going around...the collar has a "shield" around the Block O (it's hard to see, but I think that's what it is...) If you look at the Texas uniform at the top of this page, the Long Horn logo is in the same gray "sheild"...

I could be wrong and maybe that jersey was just a test, but I think there might be a connection...???

Texas has worn almost that exact jersey before, including the game before playing OSU a few years ago.
Not that fabric and design layout (in terms of seam patterns). All the jersey's seams are the same. This is the first time Nike's used this pattern.

Numbers, do you have a pic?

True, but I don't think most folks here are worried about the seams, just whether Nike jazzes up the throwbacks.

Let's hope those were just a prototype that was rejected, because those are a very poor rendition of the throwback.

I don't. It was definitely the same jersey though. The first thing the guy mentioned when he was bringing it up on his phone was the shield with the O in it. The dude seemed pretty confident that those were the ones.

Unfortunately just going to have to believe me on this (for now).

Judging by the other jerseys, I think they're claiming throwback when really they're just trying to find a bunch of elements to make the uniform identifiable with the school (i.e. feather on the side of the FSU pants). But I'm not gonna lie, the "prototype" is growing on me. Football pad shapes are going to change, and if this is the next progression, so be it.

It's hard to tell cause you can't see the whole jersey obviously, but to me at least the arm stripe is more identifiable as an Ohio State thing than the current arm stripe. I understand the current matches the helmet, but this arm stripe is much more like the Ohio State I always knew. At least no one will confuse it with Wisconsin. The black outlining is a little much, but who knows what that will look like on the field. If it were gray/silver, I'd have a lot less problem with it. I just hope the stitching on the shoulder panels is the same color as the jersey and it's just lighting.

As someone pointed out on the twitpic page, that jersey to the left looks to be Va. Tech's.

Edit: I can't tell if outside of the armband is white or gray on the arm panels. If it's gray, I'm not a fan of that.

The video on the FSU site makes it pretty clear that the new Nike uni is both lighter and more protective. I'm all about protecting the athlete, and if this stuff is real as opposed to marketing hype, then kudos to Nike.
