Will JT ever have another on-field general like Troy? Not only does Troy give them all the amazing physical abilities, but it really seems like Troy is an extension of the head-coach out there. Now, that statement is very cliche, but it seems so appropriate when you watch and especially LISTEN to what Troy says now.

After each game, I (like many of you) closely watch the post-game comments. Troy's post-game comments have become almost identical to that of JT.

One of the most enjoyable things about this early season has been the way the offense has been so open, and balanced. JT seems to be a somewhat conservative offensive mind, but he obviously has complete trust in Troy at this point because we are finally able to see that favorable play mix we always heard about. What a pleasure to watch Troy's growth as a player and JTs growth as a coach.
:oh:

It's impossible to predict when we will see another Troy. These coaches developed a raw 'baller' into the best QB in the nation.

Many feel that Henton has very similar tools to Troy, and is ahead of where troy was as a freshman. How he will develop from there is another matter.

I don't know how relevant this is, but many people considered Marcus Vick to be better than Michael Vick at this time last year. Maybe that didn't include maturity, and it was probably the announcers trying to prop up Marcus to make the game more interesting to viewers (I don't remember which game it was).

But to answer the question, YES, there will be another great leader like Troy Smith is. The next great leader (probably within 3 years) may not have the talent Troy Smith has, or the supporting cast Troy Smith has, or the media charisma that Troy Smith has.

I think he will. JT is a great coach. He grooms all of his players, and honestly, I love the 'out' product.

Troy is a talented QB, and I am not taking anything from him. But, as history has proven many times over. No matter how great a team is, no matter what kind of talent they have. At some point they will have a 'better' team.

Every team is a give and take. Take last years defense. Low rushing yards, giving the other team big plays, but their turnover margin was not that great.

This years team gives up yardage, and big plays. But, we have scored 42 points over turnovers. They have been taking the ball away from the other team, and the offense is turning those into points(barring the D's Touchdowns.)

Next year, I think we will see a stronger defense in all things. But, then again we lose Troy. But, the backups are watching and LEARNING from Troy. The biggest key to our younger QB's is the fact that Troy not only leads the team on the field, but he has learned to lead them OFF of the field. As JT HELP create Troy into the player he is. Troy is HELPING create the future Buckeye's QB.

So, will we see QB's like Troy in the future? You better believe it. We can thank JT, the whole coaching staff, and Troy Smith for that.

I was gonna say the same thing. I've been hearing how TS has taken Henton under his wing too. If he gets five years in the program under JT, I wouldn't be suprised to see a TS clone when Henton is a senior. Or at least we can only hope...
