You project a kid will be at a certain level several years in advance as you recruit them.All of a sudden Walker isn't good enough
As they continue to grow and develop the evaluation and projection evolves.
So "all of a sudden" is incorrect- a year is a long time, especially in the development of a 16-17 year old.
The fact that he decommited and went to an arch rival changes the lense through which we are viewing the extremely negative reviews he has been receiving, but it doesn't change the reviews.

He had a so-so Sr season, by 5* RB standards. Had he stayed committed to tOSU, I think an Ohio State board would be more apt to defend him and try to find bright spots. Since he didn't, and further, flipped to our arch-rival, we're going to take his statistics and criticisms more at face value. As others stated, Meyer basically letting him walk without putting up much of a fight is pretty telling IMO.All of a sudden Walker isn't good enough
Maybe he'll turn out to be a fine back at scUM, but some of the shine he had last year at this time has worn off in more places than just here.

And more to the point, some of us aren't really bashing the kid's ability but rather merely noticing the differing approach Meyer and company have towards certain recruits. The staff's willingness to cut bait on this recruit versus the steadfast determination on other "lost causes" gives some insight on how the staff views things. Doesn't mean this kid won't be a great one, but it appears the staff isn't greatly concerned over this recruiting "loss".

I don't know if this is true or not. I will say the player that I saw at the Pit against Elder looked fat and slow against a defense that my dead grandmother could have put up 100 yards on. Colerain ran for 500 yards on Elder without a 5 star runner. Fwiw.All of a sudden Walker isn't good enough

Truthfully, for people who follow recruiting closely, I think it was more along the lines of during the season when he was reportedly not looking that great it was "oh shoot, let me bite my lip and pretend he's looking great." It's now just OK to un-bite that lip.All of a sudden Walker isn't good enough

Wasn't at the game, but I did watch an Elder game this year. Their defense was porous this year.

Likely a little harsh, but he surprised me that for such a highly rated prospect, he is not even close to having a college ready body. One play in the UA game, he tried to block a DE coming off the edge (I think it was Gary), He bounced off of him like a rubber ball of a brick wall.
