Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

GVogt has never come close to "hating on" Lamarcus.

Not sure I totally agree with that. While he may not have "hated" on him, I do get the feeling that some in Florida under-sell Joyner based on what schools he's looking at. If the kid was committed to Miami or Florida, I have a feeling his ranking may be different. After all, this is the same guy who has thrown out lines such as: Duron only got an offer because his dad went here, Florida didn't want Berry, nobody in the South wanted Hyde, Sabino and Brewster were always going to leave the state, Howard only went to Ohio State becuase Sabino did, and so on.

I'm not saying he and the other Florida guys have to hail the kid as a savior, but when their reasons for ranking him out of the top 5 in the state are "he's old and on the small side" and not on what he does on the field......well. That's just my take on the matter.

He's good at what he does, but there's a hint of bias behind his words IMO. Now back to Joyner.

I completely agree the old and size comments not warranting a lower ranking. I just think that's a disagreement with the way GVogt evaluates though. Having a different method and criteria for evaluating players is far from hating on them.

I disagree with GVogt putting Lamarcus at #7 in Florida, but the man is entitled to his opinion. He has said some very complimentary things about Lamarcus. Regardless, this ranking will just motivate Lamarcus further which will be fun to watch.

DB LaMarcus Joyner will spend another day in Tallahassee. Joyner was originally scheduled to stay for only 4-6 hours on Wednesday.

Seems like the visit to Florida State is going pretty well for LaMarcus Joyner. He now says FSU leads for his services.

Wait until Joyner makes it up here for the spring game...

BN $ - LaMarcus Joyner Recruiting Diary: Entry One

4/17

Update from his visit at Alabama...says FSU felt like home and wants to see if he gets the same feeling when he visits OSU. Duron Carter is in his ear about OSU.

He mentioned in the article who is he coming to the Spring Game with, and Chris Dunkley is not one of them. I thought Dunkley was supposed to come with LJ? I hope Dunkley makes it to the Spring Game and gets his offer . . .:)

With the weather we've been having lately I think that a visit to the Spring is just what we need to help us in getting Lamarcus's services. I hear the Block-O students are planning a cheer to welcome him to Columbus the right way. "We Want Joyner" or something along those lines. I hope he has fun!

Just be careful about not violating anything NCAA-related.

Wait, so who really leads now? Do we still lead after his visit to FSU or is the story saying that FSU now leads the correct one?
Pointless in trying to keep up with that at this juncture. When a recruit as highly sought after as LaMarcus has as many visits lined upas he does, it'll probably change weekly. What matters is who's leading the first week of February.

True...

His visit for the Spring Game is really big though. I wanna be crushing the competition after he comes up here.
We always do. Last year we vaulted to the front with a couple big time FL recruits. Problem is, the spring game is in April, signing day is in February. The luster inevitably wears off after they take a few more visits.
