Grow the fuck up, Mr. Principal. :shake:
Article does a poor job of explaining why The Muck's inhabitants are not Kiffin friendly. It is because of the other things he said, and his prior accusations that the school administration would cheat to stop a UT signing - and that the area of being full of shirtless shoeless yokels...

All of which makes you popular with the locals.

As if this rivalry doesn't have enough to hype it right now.

Former Florida Gators QB Cam Newton headed to Tennessee?

As if the Florida-Tennessee rivalry couldn't get more interesting this offseason.

There are no official reports yet, but rumors are swirling about former Gator quarterback Cam Newton heading to Tennessee to play for
Lane Kiffin. Here's the original link from Gatortailgating.com.

It's not like this is some third-string defensive tackle. This was a five-star,
6-foot-6 quarterback who left the Gators in January after being arrested for allegedly stealing a laptop and throwing it out of his dorm window upon suspicion. He also left because John Brantley was likely the Tim Tebow successor at that point.

Newton enrolled at Blinn (Texas) Junior College in an effort to repair his image while serving in a pre-trial intervention program for first-time offenders (no jail time, basically). Newton maintains that he didn't steal anything and that he bought the laptop from someone anonymous.

Update: A source close to Newton told me that there have been talks with Tennessee, among other schools, but Newton probably won't decide on a school until the end of the summer -- right before his first season with Blinn. And Mississippi State is very much in the picture for Newton. Dan Mullen's relationship with Newton is still tight from their Florida days.

But could you imagine some time in 2010 that Cam Newton would be throwing passes in Neyland Stadium against the Gators defense? Just another way Kiffin can needle his least-favorite team. And the move makes sense for Tennessee. Newton's better than anybody Tennessee has calling signals right now. Though I thougth Newton was a spread quarterback, not a pro-style guy.

Cont'd ...

Sources: Marve considering Vols

Former Miami quarterback Robert Marve is considering walking on at Tennessee instead of accepting a scholarship at Purdue, according to sources familiar with Marve's options.

Marve loved the Purdue coaches during his visit and the chance to compete for the starting position in 2010. He came close to finalizing a decision to play for the Boilermakers last week. But he also long has been intrigued by the Vols.

Miami won't release Marve to Tennessee, Florida or LSU in the Southeastern Conference because it believes tampering occurred prior to his departure from the Hurricanes.

I know what was said. The point is that he may be denying a kid a chance to get a free education. If the kids don't like what Kiffin had to say, they won't go to UT.

I haven't seen it myself but apparently Kiffin commented about a new Tennessee commit today by mentioning his name on facebook and twitter which is a recruiting violation. Maybe he should take that recruiting test again.

Seriously, "one of his assistants" and "it was his first day." This guy is like a a forty car pile up on the expressway, one crash after another.

Darn typo in thread title!!!!

where did he find this assistant? who in the world doesn't know that college coaches can't mention recruits by name? of course, now that i think about it, kiffin did the same thing.
