Excellent movie, the action though is incredible to say the least, but the blood and guts is what makes the movie so good. Awesome special effects, one of if not the best movie i've seen in 2007.

However......Last Movie i saw, Force 10 From Navarone, with Harrison Ford, George Shaw, Carl Weathers, It was on AMC so i had to watch it.

I have watched 17 or 18 movies over the past week. Wife was out of town so I didn't have much to do. I have now caught up on every movie that I have wanted to see this summer and about half of the dvd's. Last movie was The Prestige. I can't really nail down the best one.

Saw the latest Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter movies this week, and thought they were both good. Pirates sure did seem to move through the story at a fast clip this time... seems they must have had a tough go of bringing it in at a reasonable time.
Still ranks as one of my favorites for forget-everything-and-just-have-fun movies.

The paper loved The Host, heard good things about it. Is it just goofy funny, or pretty good.

If you want to see a seriously messed up Korean flick rent "Oldboy" sometime. Easily one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen (and it wasn't the violence)

If you're into monster movies, then you should enjoy Host. It had it's funny corny moments, and it was non-stop action pretty much from beginning to end.

On the other hand, I was a little disappointed in 300. Don't get me wrong because I liked it, but I think all the tremendous hype got the better of me. I thought the visuals and audio were fantastic, but I thought they could have developed the main characters a little better to make them feel more real. I was expecting greatness, and all I got was a good movie. After watching 300, I had an uncontrollable urge to watch Gladiator for the umteenth time.

Gladiator=Greatness
300=Good

I have "Hot Fuzz" and "Perfume:The story of a murderer" lined up for this weekend. Thanks for the heads up on Oldboy.
