LB Raekwon McMillan (New England Patriots)

Butkus Award semifinalist.

Strikes me as odd. He's certainly talented and has that ceiling, but I'm not sure he's the best LB on this team, let alone one of the ten best in the entire country.
He's great in coverage, has a high amount of tackles. I can see it but he definitely as you said has room to improve. Particularly when filling

I'm just not sold on him at all and the way he got stiffed armed in that game was kinds funny if your PSU fan He's not a Katz or Hawk

You do realize you just mentioned two of the best LBs at Ohio State ever, right? If you expect any LB to come in and be those type of guys you're in for a lot of disappointment.

Kwon is a lot stronger in the middle than even our last guy was but the angles are still a little off for him. He does arrive with bad intentions though and the way the college game is played now, it's hard for a MLB to really stand out unless they are getting a lot of sacks or INTs. He's just not asked to do as much of that as some other guys are.

Whenever I think of the Butkus award I think of Hawk getting robbed by Poz in 05.

Whereas I think of Laurinaitis winning it in '07 (not to mention the Big Kat).

I think of Brian Bosworth winning it over Chris Spielman in '85 and '86

I've never put much stock in the award since to be honest

It's mostly sportswriter hype driven
