LB Ross Homan (official thread)

That's not Homan in that pic there. Homan wears #25. By my count last night, he had close to 18 stops. He was freaking everywhere. There were several times where he met the ball-carrier in the hole and would knock him back a good two yards. #37 Curtis Wourms for Versailles was hearing bells a couple of times from Ross's hits. He looked great in pursuit to the sidelines as well. I noticed a big difference in him from last year to this year. He's stronger, faster, and seems to read plays better. He was phenomenal. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL ROSS GETS HERE!!:oh::io:

Wow, Ross played great in that game! Looks like he'll be a good one.

From a Versailles fan on JJHuddle, "when Homan crashed into the fence a lady sitting on the other side had her nose broke and a little girl got her leg scratched up."

I don't know why they have that damn fence so close to the endzone. Ross nearly took the whole thing down when he ran into it.

Wonder if Dave Berk & Jeremy "Benditlike" Beckham saw the game....those were the two that were so confident how overrated Ross is.

He played a hell of a game last night. I'd suggest you guys get ahold of a tape of the game.

I posted that because my buddy said that's what Dayton Daily credited him with. I didn't see it, but I did watch the game live and on tape, and he had to have over 25. He was in on nearly every tackle. My buddy counted and said he came up with something like 27 or 28 tackles. I guessed 20-25 before I saw the tape.

Check out the tape. It was one of the most impressive games I've ever seen a player have, and it was against the best team in Division V.

I can't wait until BN posts film of the game up, you guys are gonna love it.

Some pics of Ross in action against Versailles from TigerBallOnline... (there's a reason it seems like I've included almost every play from the game)

EDIT: notice that he seems to have switched jerseys at halftime and put on the legendary green jersey....

Ross Homan

</TD><TD noWrap width=3></TD><TD vAlign=top>By Gary Housteau

Date: Oct 20, 2005

This classic Midwestern Athletic Coference matchup pitted the visiting Coldwater Cavaliers, ranked number 1 in division IV, against the hometown Versailles Tigers, ranked number 1 in division V. Future OSU Buckeye Ross Homan led the way for the victorious Coldwater team with 123 yards on 20 carries at running back and more than 20 tackles on defense. Homan, who's been favorably compared to OSU's A.J. Hawk at linebacker, made a valid case for him being a Mr. Football candidate in this game.
