LB Storm Klein (Official Thread)

Hopefully just a rumor, but google is already pulling up reports from the Franklin County Municipal Court records. Things don't look good.

This is a university policy that comes down straight from the highest levels of the university (i.e. the board and Bricker Hall) and one that UM fully agreed with when taking the job. If true, I'd be surprised if he takes the field this year.

"According to the court records, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound man with blonde hair named Storm Klein was arrested Friday and is scheduled for arraignment on Saturday morning. Ohio State officials had not confirmed Klein's identity as of late Friday night, but the descriptions in the report match closely with the senior who left spring practice as the backup at middle linebacker."

I don't know Storm as a person or as a football player, but if this is true and unless he has a really good excuse, I have no problem saying a scholarship spot just opened up for a new kid who really wants to be here. I think we've all had enough negative crap and this program doesn't need any more bad press.

Like it would take that long for espn to come up with bad news regarding tOSU.

It's at least on the CFB section already.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN had already created templates covering every possible incident at Ohio State. Meanwhile, Bama scoots off free and un-hassled.

In regards to Storm, I sure hope this was all a misunderstanding (perhaps he was roleplaying as Thor?), but that seems unlikely :(

From the Columbus Dispatch (link below) The comments from readers below the article were not very supportive, to say the least, of Storm.
Ohio State linebacker Storm Klein pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and assault in Franklin County Municipal Court this morning, according to the records in the case, after being arrested by Columbus police on Friday night.

Klein, who spent the night in jail and was represented by a public defender, was ordered to stay away from the unnamed complainant, was ordered not to consume alcohol/drugs or to be caught in possession of firearm as conditions of his bond.

A senior from Licking Valley High School near Newark, Ohio, Klein can expect at the least to be suspended by OSU coach Urban Meyer, team insiders said. OSU has yet to have a formal media response, but it could come later this morning.

Meyer recently suspended senior tight end Jake Stoneburner and junior left tackle Jack Mewhort from their scholarships at least for summer school after they were charged with misdemeanor offenses by the Shawnee Hills police for an incident during the Memorial Tournament weekend.

Klein was expected to compete for the starting job at middle linebacker this fall. He started 10 games last year, but due to injuries he saw limited action during the first spring drills under Meyer. Sophomore Curtis Grant was listed as the starter on the depth chart issued in May, with Klein as the backup.

According to the court hearing, the alleged altercation stemmed from an argument about the future of a relationship between Klein and the alleged victim.
The prosecutor said in court, "The defendent then grabbed the prosecuting witness and wrapped his arms around her body and grabbed her forearms causing scrapes. He purposefully threw her against the front door causing her head to hit the door. There were pictures that detailed these injuries.
"There were noticeable injuries all over the prosecuting witness' body including to her arms."
