The Rockets usually offer really good season ticket packages at surprisingly cheap prices that include parking passes, food vouchers and discounts on swag. Saw some pretty entertaining games, especially back when Marshall was in the MAC and had Bryon Leftwich at QB. The two teams played for the conference title several times when the Championship Game was still a home game for one of the teams. Saw a couple of barn burners between the Rockets and the Herd. Had a lot of fun at games in the Glass Bowl.

Reminds me of a cousin who lives in the Cincinnati area. 15 years ago or so... he bought season tickets to UC games. He wasn't much of a fan - he's a bigger Ohio State fan, by far. But they were cheap tickets to UC. I forget... maybe $200 for 4 seats, 6 games? I think they were still in CUSA. Maybe they JUST got into the Big East. Anyway, a couple of seasons of that and then Brian Kelly or Dantonio or someone got there and got them winning, and then they raised prices for him, so he quit buying.

He said the same thing you did - he saw some good players go through there and some entertaining games. I know one game the fans stormed the field after a win, and they got roasted in the local media: "Act like you've been there before." His response: "We've never been here before."

Cincinnati: the fourth largest city in America before the civil war that then spent the next 100 years doing everything completely wrong but still considers themselves New York and Paris rolled into one.

And don't forget Kahn's hot dogs. You have a really cute legacy of small pork processor that you kept alive. At the same time, Chicago built the stockyards (and the railyards leading into it) and created Hormel, Oscar Meyer, Swift, Armour, Kraft and Sarah Lee. That could have been Cincinnati (they had the head start), but something happened on the way to greatness.

I'll take that over my hometown being the first city in the Northwest Territories, then deciding, "We like where we're at. Modern advancements and population growth be damned!".
