Maryland WR Stefon Diggs (official thread)

We already knew this, but just a few quotes from coach

All-USA wide receiver Stefon Diggs expected to delay signing

Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) football coach Bob Milloy said that wide receiver Stefon Diggs is unlikely to sign on Wednesday, the first day of the national letter of intent period for football.

Diggs, a 6-foot, 185-pound receiver who was a member of the All-USA first team , had 36 catches for 808 yards and scored 13 touchdowns this season.

"I think he is a little confused right now," Milloy said. "He's got a little bit of a decision to make. He just got back from a visit to Ohio State."

Diggs' most prominent pursuers include Auburn, California, Florida, Maryland and Ohio State.

He is ranked No. 8 overall prospect in the country by Rivals.com.

Is Diggs committing on signing day? If say OSU did get him, does Neal look elsewhere than?

I think OSU needs at least 1 of these guys. Major Playmaker is the only thing this class is missing

I am thinking back to the days when tOSU had both receivers selected in the first round of the draft? It was someone named something like Ginnzolez. I think he was an under recognized part of Troy Smith's Heisman.

And to have Santonio go out shortly after in the first round also?

And Hartline and Robo? Those were the days.

Arriving belatedly at my main point, in summary, I personally we need at least 4 of these guys.

However, if even one joys, I promise to be ecstatic.

I am even ecstatic the Diggs visited.

Some might find it slightly discouraging that he didn't stay that long. Didn't Spence only stay for a short time too?

I wouldn't mind if they wore those helmets during the game.

Yep, similar stories (schedule conflicts forced a short trip, Saturday arrival). UFM had time to talk to me at Eddie George's for about half an hour around 2 p.m. on Sunday, so I'd say he can close quickly...I told him to lock up Spence...he just laughed and winked  Wish I had that kind of first hand cofirmation on Diggs lol.

He will get jacked.

Don't worry about it :)

He looks about like Ted Ginn Jr in his 2nd year at OSU, in terms of his build.

If you can't catch him, you can't hit him :)...
Exactly.

And with Braxton, Smith, Marshall, Dunn, Ball and maybe Foster, Isaac, etc, he won't need to take a heavy pounding like Harvin.

From his frame, he looks like he can comfortably carry 205-210 and not lose speed.

This kid could be fine around 200. Guys like desean Jackson, mike wallace, santana moss and santonio holmes have been wr with skinnier frames and done fine in college and in the league. Bulk isn't always necessary if you have speed and catching ability.
