Mike Dontonio (get off my lawn!!!)

It's funny. When Ohio State lost Pryor, Tress, and was going through all of the bs, MSU, Meatchiken, and Wisconsin had no problem snatching up kids that were more than likely going to/did commit to Ohio State. The minute they lose them, they cry foul.

Out of appreciation for Dantonio's contribution to our '02 NC, I've rooted for MSU when it wasn't contraindicated. He's now close to cashing in his last chip from that win with me. Considering Mark's throwing in with, of all people, Bret Bulemic, on this issue is a bit too much to overlook.

Mark Dantonio has never shied away from pissing on the shoes of his rivals. We were all thrilled when he did it with Michigan; why did anyone think things would be different with us after his mentor was shitcanned from Ohio State?

Who said it would be different? He doesn't owe Ohio State anything.

That doesn't mean he isn't full of shit in this instance though.

This. It seems likely to me that this is much more about Dantonio feeling that JT got done wrong by OSU and, quite possibly, that Meyer was angling for the job (or OSU was angling for him) the instant there was a little blood in the water, than it is about Pittman.

I also have no doubt that all of these coaches know that OSU's likely to have at least as much, and maybe even more, talent as was present when JT dominated the league, but now with an offense to match the perennially strong defense and more of a go for the throat mentality, so they'd better try to gang up on the bully ASAP. I'd be scared too if was them: Based on natural advantages of resources, support, and location, the only school in the Big Ten that should be able to regularly contend with OSU is Penn State . . . and they're likely to be in the shitter for a while.

Who cares..
Let's be a little realistic...2012 was supposed to be the year for the little 11, er I mean medium 3 maybe 4. We were supposed to be down..and they all started kicking..We lost a Great Coach...(how could we find one better?) Players on suspension, NCAA serious infractions were coming, and a recruiting class that was ripe for the pickings.
Until, THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY hired none other than......... URBAN FUCKING MEYER. The cacophony of whiny coaches and fanbases was enough to give a person a headache. Thankfully laughter as they say is the best medicine. "It's not fair he gets to recruit" they cried, "he's stealing our recruits" they screamed. What the hell else were they going to do? They had a door that was open to them..SLAMMED SHUT in a terrorfying manner. THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY was/is back to being on top.
Fact is I want to score 50 points a game against everyone. I want our opponents only scoring chances to be 50+ yard field goal attempts..with those ending in blocks. I want shutouts and negative yardage stats. Is it realistic? Maybe not, but I don't care anymore. They all tried kicking us when we were down thinking it might be a year or two before we could get on our feet. They were wrong, it's time to step on some necks if you ask me. :oh:

Who knows, maybe Dantonio is right (we used to always complain about UFM when he was at Florida). Do I think he is? Hell no. I just think UFM dominates the recruiting scene and coaches get pissed off with how relentless he is. Not to mention that if what UFM said about Se'von calling him wanting to be a Buckeye is true, then how is that unethical? Perhaps Dantonio is pissed because he didn't get the job when JT got canned. IDK but if these coaches keep complaining, they are going to get Kiffin'ed.

I will say that I love being on this side of things too. The world already hates us, so why not have a coach like UFM that keeps it legal but steps on the throat when given the chance? Especially Bielema and Hoke...I hope to God we can beat them but 30+ every year now that we will have a legitimate offense. No mercy, this is football for God's sake.

Calling timeouts late in the 4th quarter to kick a field goal in a game that has long been decided? Hell, yes.

I truly appreciated Jim Tressel's ultra-classy treatment of the opponenets (except you Northwestern), but after this off-season? Fuck it all. Kick their teeth in.

This. 1000x this. The days of class and winning with humility were great, but I'm looking forward to being up by 30+ and keeping the first team in taking shots down field.
