Rashan "LLL" Gary (DL Green Bay Packers)

I'm not disagreeing with your points, but that there's always more to those points. In the world of recruiting any and everything does happen and baffling decisions can be made. We've seen kids choose UK, Mizzou, Illinois, Maryland and even Rutgers over OSU in the past 8-10yrs, and OSU was dominating the Big 10 and went to 2 NCs and won multiple BCS Bowls, and those schools didn't even have coaches with the name recognition of the Harbrau. I'd be happy to welcome Gary into this class, and even though its only July, we have a chunk of ground to make up, not just with scUM, but the always lurking Bama and other SEC schools
I agree with your points but again personally I don't think we have a lot of ground to make up personally. If Rashan comes back before the season I think it will tell us a lot to be honest and he's said he will be back. Now I'm not sure how many times he's been to the other places but I don't know if he's given any school as thorough of a look as our buckeyes (if he indeed does visit again to show his line coach around).

Good luck to Rashan either way and if we lose out on him (hopefully it's not ttun) this won't be one of those cases were it's "oh we didn't want him anyways" because everyone wants this guy.

I read where the Mom loved Georgia.. she has to understand that is a GRUELING drive from Jersey.. so chances of her getting to games is not good unless she plans on flying.. On a GOOD day, that drive is in excess of 12 hours... and it's rough.. Phila, Balt, DC and Richmond traffic.. then thru Atlanta

Very true NJ. If not the buckeyes obviously Rutgers IMO would be great for Rashan as he could really give them a shot in the arm that they need to keep some of their NJ talent at home (hopefully this does not happen though ha ha).

Other than NJ I think OSU is the most friendly location if his folks wish to see him play more often than not (besides PSU but not sure they're in the running)

Just have a gut feeling that this turns into an AU/UA fight with UM thinking they actually have a chance going into NSD.
I think the distance factor is getting overblown. I'm sure there's some concern, but if he told his mom he was going to an SEC school or a school that competed for an NC or they were comfortable me with, there'd be little problem. Distance was something some thought would keep EzE in Missouri or Bell closer to TN. This battle will go on for some time, but I think it's UA, AU or scUM. And either way, I'd love to get him, I still agree with the Kirk Barton quote though...

I'm sure the Dawg Recruiting team will see it through till the end, but I just can't see us landing him due to depth chart issues.

2013 Class:
Jon Atkins - 4 stars
Deandre Johnson - 3 stars
Toby Johnson - 3 stars
Chris Mayes - 3 stars

2014 Class:
Kendall Baker - 4 Stars
Lamont Gailard - 3 Stars

2015 Class:
Daquan Hawkins - 3 stars
Trenton Thompson - 5 stars

Lots of talented people waiting to play.

Forget about stars and depth charts.. this kid plays early and often in ANY school in the country
with all due respect to our 2016 roster
Nick Bosa--Lawrence--Gary--Cooper is flat out, NC tier

Not to be THAT guy, but don't forget Malik Barrow  But I am personally just hoping for at least one of Gary, Lawrence, or Jackson. Add one of those guys to Barrow and that is a killer DT haul, particularly when you mix them in with Alibi, Landers, and Hamilton from '15. And all of those 3 realistically on the board are 1 techs and Malik will be a 3 tech. However, I would put us behind on all 3, with the most realistic being Jackson (I think we are probably about even there with Auburn).

Personally, I want it to be Gary...we are definitely behind right now but I agree with most in saying we have more than a fighting chance here, especially since this will go until the end. Cooper and Walker keep working him, UFM and LJ Sr. knock down the doors, and we win over mom somewhat...it can definitely happen. But I am not going to really even pay attention to his recruitment too much until he gets back here with his mom.

Yes, on paper this is an amazing haul. But I take rankings with a grain of salt, they mean little to nothing when a kid gets on campus. The vaunted Alabama class of 2015 hardly saw the field, and all the 5 stars in their front 7 were getting owned by 3stars like Darryl Baldwin, Cardale Jones, Elflein, Boren, etc. I think some of these Kids will be in the rotation but hard to think any of them being starters on teams as talented as OSU

Neither of them are in the same solar system as Bosa v2...
Little Boss is still playing against HSers, so id say he's not in their solar system, yet. He hasn't even had a college level lifting session with Coach Mick or looked at a college playbook. Let's not put the cart before the horse. CFB has been littered with 5star can't miss prospects who got to school and didn't live up to hype. I'm not saying Boss won't be great, but let's get him committed first, and then at some college practices before were talking about him replacing his brother
