Rashan "LLL" Gary (DL Green Bay Packers)

He spoke of a major criterion being "somewhere my family can see me play".

Tuscaloosa is 1023 miles from him and the airport is inconvenient.
Clemson is 774 miles away and the airport is inconvenient.
Ann Arbor is 608 miles away, but if is a hub for Northwest airlines.
Columbus is 539 miles away and the airport is convenient
Rutgers is, well, Rutgers.
Almost grasping for straws there. Columbus is going to be a relative pain (no pun intended) for his family despite having a convenient airport compared to others, what with driving to the airports, checking in, going through security, picking up baggage, and getting to the destination (both ways). Rutgers is a under a hour's drive away from his high school...they can easily attend all his home games at essentially no travel expense. No way you can spin Columbus as not being all that different from Rutgers in how easy it would be for his family to attend games.

But... for whatever it's worth... if seeing games is important, that should be a positive for Ohio State over Alabama. At least a few games at Rutgers, plus PA and MD... and Columbus is more accessible.

Anyway, I don't know why I'm here. I'm bored and reading Spy... time for me to get back to looking at shoe colors and trying to figure out if it's Crimson or Scarlet.

Agreed, it is impossible to beat Rutgers for being accessible for his family. Rutgers wins. I can only hope he does not want to play for Rutgers

He is from New Jersey. It isn't easy for his family to go see him play anywhere in the country.

Truth be told, it probably isn't easy for them to see him play in New Jersey.

Don't like the wording of the quoted tweet though. "plans to visit Michigan on 6/24 with his mom and will likely stop at OSU on the way." obviously you take any visit you can get, but if that's a paraphrased quote from Gary then osu is a pit stop on the way to the visit for UM.
Meyer convinced Victor to extend a short visit into one that ate into the time he spent at UM and MSU.

Maybe they can pull off something similar here.

That said, I've never felt good vibes in this recruitment.

There are certain recruits that really buy in to what OSU is selling and others who don't. This strikes me as someone not buying in- or at least someone who hasn't up to this point.

It reminds me of Jabrill Peppers' recruitment in that regard.

It also reminds of Dashawn Hands recruitment and lack of buying in to OSU... At least we're getting him on campus, but not getting good vibes either. But at least we have some great options at DT
