NUGE WITH A CHANCE TO WIN THE GAME

The Jets bungled around at the end. A draw play for a loss of one yard, a fumbled snap for a loss of two more, then a pass play to get the ball to the 35 setup the Nugent attempt. All they needed was to gain at least two more yards to the 33 to have Nuge win it. I guess that's why the Jets suck this year.

If the Jets didn't fucking choke once they got to the 35...don't fucking make your kicker kick a 52 yarder. Good kick by nuge...he had a good game. was 4/4 before his 52 yard try. Dammit...that was so close. I thought it was good. He looks solid though.

I thought it was good right up until the announcers went, "...OH NOOO!!"

Needed to be what, two yards closer?

Gotta feel for him, though. He was having his best game ever as a pro. First big chance for a game winner.

And now I'm seeing at the various Jets sites that a lot of the "fans" (not as far as I'm concerned) were rooting for him to MISS so that they would keep bombing and would be able to get a high pick in the draft.

That's got to hurt, your own "fans" rooting against you. I can understand wanting to get a crack at one of the top picks, but everyone needs a win once in awhile...it would have been good for the ego.

What can I say, I'm protective of the Nuge.

the jets fans are idiots. they have been bitching about kickers forever and whenever nuge misses a 50+ yard FG they bitch about it and shit on him. did he have the wind to his back? just wondering because he did make those kind of kicks in college although a 50+ fuckin yard FG is awesome. hell i dont even know if i can throw a ball 50 yards anymore

I think we all know he had the leg for it. Who knows what happened. He was about a YARD short. They could have really used that yardage, roughly what, four yards, that Bollinger lost on the dropped snap right before the kick.

I really wanted the win for them, but I know, there's no room for sympathy in sports.

i just wanted the win for nuge:biggrin: thats pretty much my only motivation to watch most of the pro games is to see the buckeye players.

typically drafting kickers high in the NFL draft is stupid. Chip Lohmiller and Jabonoski from FSU were drafted high and neither did great in the NFL. Nobody knows which kickers are going to be the great ones so you might as well not draft one high.
