Official "Stop Saying That Phrase" Thread

Of course... now... that I'm actually thinking... could also be a Kool Aid Acid test reference...

Either way, I think its a "lemming" type accusation.

Ok, the "follow the crowd without thinking" or "lemming" reference makes good sense to me. I am not sure about the "Kool Aid Acid Test" reference. It's been a long time since I read that book however.

Wikipedia says it's originally a reference to Kesey & the Merry Pranksters & the Acid Tests, and the association with Jonestown came later.

I don't like Wikipedia and will continue to mistrust it's veracity due to it's policy of "user defined entries" however I do use it as a research "jumping off point" and will check out the Kesey reference elsewhere.

"I could care less."

Wouldn't that mean you care a little?

Shouldn't it be "I couldn't care less?" Meaning, "I don't care at all so there isn't any room for me to care less?" Maybe that should be the new phrase-

Bob: "Hey, did you hear Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's home run record?"
Joe: "I don't care at all so there isn't any room for me to care less."
Bob: "Oh."

It's got a nice ring and feel to it...
