OH TE Matt Dotson (Sparty Signee)

Super talented kid, but in the end I believe due to tight numbers and there not being a glaring need for TE now after the 2016 class, Matt may be another example of a talented OH kid leaving the state. And unfortunately since the B1G only has 2-3 that believe in recruiting, he'll most likely be headed to another conference as well

is there known information behind this or are you just throwing darts at a kid on a whim.

Known information based on following recruiting.

I stand with Pnut. A couple of reasons point to this: 1) Class size, 2) Hausmann in '16 class, 3) Wade (I think) saying that the only ones who make it into the '17 class will have to be of the rarefied elite status (my words)... 4) what's going on with recruiting at the RB and QB position may be enough to fill up almost 25%-30% of the class. Any other year I'd say that there's a better chance than not, but as things are, I'm not putting my money on this table. I think the visit is to keep options open, but I'm not sure that a TE position is even on our board at this point.

I would also add to your points, that getting 3 TEs in 2016, shows no need in 2017. Heck, Ive read where Farrell may even be groomed for the O line, OSU has so many TEs that Berry was moved to DE and we still have great depth. No knock on Dotson's talent whatsoever, just another example of the causalities that will happen in the tight 2017 class
