Ohio State 85, Tennessee 84 (final)

Well, I said during their defecit against Xavier that if they came back that I'd never doubt them. I'm not doubting them now, but I'll honestly feel like this team is from somewhere outer space if they happen to come back in this game.

I gotta say that I'm completely dissapointed in Daequan Cook. It just seems to me that he doesn't play to help the team; he only plays for himself, and for the NBA.

This is a disgrace.

I think you were right on the money. Seems like for the second year in a row we're facing a team that we match up horribly with. Funny thing is that last year's team was much better suited to face a team like UT tonight and this year's team is much better suited to face a team like G'Town last year.
The tournament is all about matchups and how to scheme for the mismatches. I don't think we match up too bad with Tenn., we just have to play our game and our speed. After we had the mini spurt to get the deficit down to 12 the pace of the game picked up which favors the Vols, especially with our horrid shooting.

Well fellas, this one is shaping up to be a case of one team being lights out.......and the other being as flat as a can of 2 day old Pepsi. Unfortunately, we are the flat ones....... The tournament is all about who is hot, OSU dodged fire last week, it may finally catch up to them tonight.......barring a miracle. Regardless, it's been a hell of a season, you can't lose sight of that. I've always questioned them being the top team in the country, I alway worried about what would happen when they face a hot 3 point shooting team. It takes Oden out of the game, and it forces the Buckeyes out of their tempo.

Damn.........:(

And why the hell did Matta not abandon the man to man, we need to come out in the 3/2. KEEP ODEN IN THE PAINT and GUARD THE PERIMITER. We cannot guard this team man to man we just are not fast enough.
They haven't run the 3-2 all year (to my knowledge)... if he ran it now he'd run the risk of players being out of position and giving up easy points. This team will live and die by man-man and 2-3.

Yep. It looks like Matta and his staff did just about as much to prepare for this game as Tressel and the staff did to prepare for the NC game

damn straight man.... What do they think because we're #1 that we don't have to change something about the team if it means puttin in a better effort. To start the half I hope they put Oden, Harris, Butler, Lewis, and Conley out there. We need a low post presense and our 4 best three point shooters. We are going to make some three's and come back and dammit if we don't I swear... oh on a personal rant is anyone disappointed in how us buckeyes don't support our basketball program enough?? IN the big ten tourney we got outnumbered by most teams in fan support, and we have hardly any fans there again (for sure tennessee don't either). I have been very not impressed with out we travel to help these guys out, but if this was football we'd have the whole stadium.

perhaps we have an operative at the alamodome who will slip some pulverized ambien in the vols' gatorade. :sleep2:

I think they did, because those stone-cold sumbitches were unconscious in the first half.

Butler is the worst offender. He looks lost.

butler needs to be benched! the sky is not falling, i'm not overreacting. he looks like shit.

Agreed. Can't make a shot. Stupid-ass turnovers.

The whole team is playing lazy on defense. UT gets open shots and when they miss them, get easy tip-ins.

Give 'em hell, Thad!

I was worried when I saw the start time of this game. I know Tennessee had the same time difference, but those type of things seem to usually work in favor of the underdog. It certainly didn't help with the sluggishness.

Edit: not an excuse nonetheless.

no more zone until the final buzzer. Oden gonna have to bust his ass when Chism cuts. Cook Lewis and Conley have to apply pressure full court and Butler needs to look in the miroir before he comes out for the second half. Without points of turnovers buckeyes have no chance.
