If you would've had me guess the winner of this game for OSU:

vs. the #3 team
at their place
with K. Wesson scoring 0 points
with Kam Williams not even in the lineup
with CJ going 0-fer from 3-point land
and with that clown show that was supposed to be "officiating"

well, I've got to be honest, I think I would've guessed Purdue. But what the hell do I know?

Yep and KBD "only" scoring 18 points, which is below his season average

Couple of thoughts:
  • The balls on this team
  • Andre Wesson was absolutely, no question, the player of the game even if he scores 0 points. To fucking battle like that against a dude who has 9 inches and almost 100 pounds on you was just incredible to watch. He essentially took Haas out of the game. Oh, and he dumped in 13 for good measure.
  • Team help-side defense and defensive rebounding was also remarkable. Great plays all over by Dakich, Jallow, Tate, Keita to double-down when they did enter the post with Haas and force steals or bad shots. Just as impressive was the team's all-in on defensive rebounding when we were often outmanned... think I saw a stat of 1 offensive board the whole game for Purdue?
  • Jae'Sean deserves a ton of credit for taking over ballhandling duties in the second half... he had a couple of dimes and a couple of nice drives as the primary ballhandler when CJ and Dakich were getting shut down.
  • People can rag on Dakich all they want, but I love that dude. Getting on the floor to get the loose ball, backside steal on the post entry, layup from a tough angle, and the bringing the ball up the court to relieve pressure but not trying to do too much... he just makes so many winning plays that you don't really recognize. Can't shoot for shit but doesn't generally doesn't try to, mostly stays in his lane and I love that
