Ohio State is celebrating a win over Virginia Tech, but recruiting never stops.

The Buckeyes took care of business on Monday night, beating Virginia Tech by a score of 42-21. The second-half thumping helped boost Ohio State, as they finished the night in impressive fashion thanks to some excellent production from the newly positioned Braxton Miller, transitioning from playing quarterback to H-back. With a win, the coaching staff can focus on the other aspect of their job: recruiting

While the recruiting world waits for no one, most of the news was fairly quiet for Ohio State on Monday. Still, one of the top safetys in the class of 2017, Jaylen Kelly-Powell, went to see Texas-Notre Dame over the weekend and seemed to greatly enjoy himself. Ranked by 247Sports as the the 15th best safety in his class, the four-star is looking forward to seeing how things continue to develop with the Irish program.

The 6'0, 183-pound Kelly-Powell holds offers from the likes of Duke, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Stanford, and West Virginia, among others. Notre Dame hasn't yet offered the safety, but is showing interest in the talented prospect, and will likely pull the trigger on an offer in the near future.

The Michigan-native is currently pegged to become a Wolverine when it's all said and done, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball. Whether that's accurate or not, Michigan does hold the lead with 100 percent of the vote thus far, and seems like the team to beat.

'17 shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. has Ohio State among his favorites in his recruitment so far, and is ranked in the top 10 for the 247Sports Composite Rankings at ninth. The five-star is ranked as the ninth-best player in the country overall, the second-best shooting guard in the nation, and the best player at any position from the state of Minnesota.

Trent's 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions look somewhat nice for Ohio State, as the Buckeyes only slightly trail Duke (69 percent to 31 percent). Trent Jr. holds offers from nearly all of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Kentucky, Arizona, Baylor, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oregon, Providence, Duke, and is receiving interest from Purdue and Wisconsin.
