Thats exactly what it looks like!!!
Ha - reminds me of when my company changed logos, years ago. All they did was write out the company name, in all lower-case letters, and italicized it. I have no idea how much we paid a consulting company, but if it was more than a jar of applesauce, we got ripped off.
That's exactly what it looks like...a cheap counterfeit.
Why am I totally not surprised that Zurp's employer uses applesauce as currency?
If we behave, they crush some interesting pills and mix it with the applesauce.
Exclusive behind the scenes footage of creating the logo...

Why do I get the sense we're being trolled? That can't be real.
Why? Are you saying you prefer one of the alternate designs?
It's my understanding that Gene Smith was really impressed with this one:
I kinda like the 2nd one from the top ::tinfoil::ohwell:
Mods please correct these for future use:
I just laugh at the entire situation and perhaps indicative of the leadership of the Department of Athletics, but OSU has to now replace the huge logo on the back of the Ohio Stadium scoreboard (less than a year old) and the logo on the new basketball floor.
It really seems like some at OSU (or Nike) continue to try to "shoe-horn" Black as a school color.
At first I thought "yeah, what a waste", but then I realized it'll just take this:
Changing the border from grey to black and making it about half as thick would actually look good. It would also have a side benefit of emulating the iconic helmet stripe.
Of course that would probably necessitate making the black part of the lettering thinner to compensate (so as not to overwhelm with the black or make it look like it's running together) going with the grey interior would probably work pretty well if you went that route (as Woof mentioned above).
So basically the following but with much thinner black borders...

See my signature for the one and true athletics logo.
It has scarlet, it has gray (border, difficult to see against this background), it has a Block O and it has a buckeye. That's all that is necessary.
