Game Thread Ohio State vs Penn State - 11/23/19, 12:00PM (FOX)

The past two games have been somewhat frustrating, but we're still undefeated. If this team cleans up the silly mistakes look out.
This game convinced me that the only team capable of beating OSU is OSU. I was a little nervous about PSU's skill players but they did absolutely nothing. Right now the only team that can match up with OSU is Clemson.

Not being offensively effective on first down isn't an occasional thing. It seems to be a real Achilles' heel. Can't expect to be in second and long a lot and do much against an elite D. Quick hitting passes and some of the mesh routes we saw last year would help a lot IMO. I don't think the stats reflect how bad it's actually been because against overmatched opponents we grind out big first down runs in the second half, but my eye test says it's a problem. Am mildly alarmed at the lack of creativity and flow in play calling of late as well, but maybe some things are being saved for scUM.

I still think Fields is injured. The adrenaline will be pumping next week, but it looks like 31-35F with wet snow at kickoff. Could be really bad conditions and that makes it tougher with even niggles.

I don't think he's out there taking knees if he's injured. My foot hurt just watching that play but I'm not a 21 year old athlete.

Damn shame if he is, though. Didn't need to be running that play in that situation.
