I'll miss him. I think alot of people were expecting more from him based on his rating coming out of high school. He had his problems, but overall, he represented the University pretty well (once he got the problem behind him).
I think with coaching, he's going to make a fine pro.

That article is a load of crap. There is no way Miami ever thought about Alex as a #1 overall talent. He's a good tackle, I'm sure he'll have a fine NFL career, but that is crazy.

Did anyone watch the east west shrine game? I have it recorded but can't watch it till tomorrow. My inlaws are in town:(. Keep sneaking peeks upstairs for "bathroom breaks", but I haven't heard anything about him yet.

Todd McShay said Boone has the tools to be great, but he gets lazy and doesn't move his feet well, and that causes him to be made a fool of.

3. Ohio State OT Alex Boone
One of Boone's biggest weaknesses is his inability to hold his own working against speedy and athletic defensive ends and it frequently showed this week. Richmond DE Lawrence Sidbury beat him with an outside-in move during one-on-one drills earlier this week and he looked stiff in pass protection during Saturday afternoon's game.

The scouts were everywhere -- watching, evaluating, judging -- and not just on the football field.

That's what former Ohio State offensive tackle Alex Boone learned last week in Houston. In the days leading up to the East-West Shrine Game, Boone found himself being scrutinized in strange ways.

"They watch every little thing you do," Boone said. "They watched whether you held the door open for people and if you said, 'Yes sir, no sir.' They evaluated everything."

According to ESPN scout Todd McShay, Boone's stock supposedly took a hit after the Shrine Game. Boone said he was beaten once but thought he played well overall.

"I get a good sense" from scouts, Boone said. "My size helps, obviously. They want me to play lower, get in better shape and run to the ball more."

Failed to impress

1. Missouri QB Chase Daniel
Daniel didn't have a great week of practice. The undersized quarterback clearly had some problems scanning the field from within the pocket and didn't put great velocity on his downfield passes. However, we felt that Daniel, who is a fierce competitor, would perform better in the game. Instead he completed just 2 of 9 passes for one yard and struggled to locate the strike zone. Making matters worse for Daniel, Michigan State QB Brian Hoyer, who replaced him late in the first quarter, shined in comparison.

Brian frickin' Hoyer outshined him!?Anyway, I don't know what happened to Boone. Maybe he was overhyped coming in? This has been mentioned before I'm sure but does anyone think that the Florida loss took the fight out of some of those guys (Boone in particular) and they never recovered? I just don't get it.
