OL Taylor Decker (Detroit Lions)

I'm not the greatest with spreadsheets, but I plugged in $7M, and then gave 5% interest per year, while taking out $250K a year to spend, adjusting the spending money for annual inflation rate of 3.22% (US average since the government started keep stats in 1913). Without making another dime, he could live for 41 years at an inflation-adjusted income of $250K before he ran out of money.

Don't underestimate the hidden value inherent to being a LT. He doesn't have to buy his teammates shit, while his QB and RB will be showering him with gifts for the next 8 to 10 years.

Taylor Decker out indefinitely after shoulder surgery

Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker will be out indefinitely after having surgery on his shoulder Monday, following an injury last week.

The team's first-round pick last year, Decker started every game of his rookie season. He played every snap at left tackle and had been expected to be an anchor of the Lions offensive line this season.
