Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

As problematic as the D has been lately, I think the issue is more about consistency than talent.

We can slow Clemson down, when we play to the level we're capable. I'm not saying we're an elite defense, but the D has had enough good moments to make me believe they're talented. They've just also unfortunately had more bad moments that has me questioning their ability to execute consistently.

This is the issue. Playing disciplined; being gap sound, proper pursuit angles, good tackling, all around technique will be the challenge. We've looked really sloppy and undisciplined in failing to do these things. IF, and that's a big IF, we can manage to play more disciplined and be consistent, then we could surprise a lot of people with a strong defensive performance.

I'm hoping the extra time in prepping will help. The kids seem to struggle with the mental side of being disciplined, get discouraged and end up in quicksand a lot. If the coaching staff can get them to just do the little things every play, we're certainly talented enough to play well defensively. Here's to hoping we get the stops we need.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and seasons greetings!

Go Bucks!

I've watched our curb-stomping of Ped State at least three times now, and will watch it many times more.
I prefer the drier taste of a good 95, 96 or 05 Chateau Notre Dame. The 96 Michigan was a bit of sweetness in string of miserable vinetages, but most of the 2000's have been full of lively good flavor, with just a touch of haughty aftertaste. The 2003 Miami has aged nicely. I hear some of the 'cane fans serve it with crow.

Ah, but it is still tough to beat the classic '69 USC. That baby has the legs and body and sweet smell of roses of a never aging bombshell!

I think our D will be strong enough to force enough 3 and outs, but will give up some quick TDs. I think our offense can score every time they touch the ball.

So I guess it's time to break out the black jersey's.

I saw somebody wearing one of these when I went to the Florida A&M game earlier this year and almost had a heart attack.
