Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

Dline needs to step it up. If they affect Boyd - we have a good chance.

Time for Roby to show the scouts he's worthy of a 1st round pick. Toss a blanket on Watkins.

100% spot on. It's so valid in fact that I think it renders any other conversation about what our defense does as irrelevant. If we get to him we talk about an Orange bowl win, and our secondary. If we don't, we spend all of our time talking about a secondary we won't see again until the spring game.

Clearly college football news is drunk... In their early "gut reaction picks" for the BCS games, they have OSU beating Clemson 38-13. I would love to understand how OSU holds them to 13. Also they have Auburn and Sparty winning.

lol what. There is no chance we hold them to 13. There's a better chance of Hoke going vegetarian

LOL@ that CFN prediction. Only way that happens is if Ohio State holds Clemson to field goals or OSU's d-line gets 10 sacks. Boyd is going to throw for 500 yards on this horrendous secondary. I could see the game being something like 42-35 in Ohio State's favor but even that's being generous. Wouldn't shock me if each team scored in the 50s.

Scout Preview said:
3. WR Sammy Watkins, Jr. Clemson – After a down sophomore season, Watkins came back roaring with 85 catches for 1,237 yards and ten scores on the way to earning a spot as a Biletnikoff finalist. He was held in check – relatively speaking – by Florida State and South Carolina, scoring against the Seminoles but failing to hit 100 yards against either team. Almost certainly off to the NFL after this game, this is his chance to showcase what he can do against a good, not great, Tide secondary.

Clemson scores on the first two drives, Taj Boyd then has 7 straight butt fumbles on QB draws. It's OSU's only chance.
