Taos knows how the system works...

Reading a little too much into what I said, RIB...no way to know what is going to happen...all I am saying is that the fact that he is starting to pay attention to other schools i only natural. For the longest time, he was only courted by the home school because of proximity...and now he is feeling the love from other major programs. Who wouldn't react the same way? I don't care how much you bleed S&G, you would at least listen to what the USC's and Michigan's of the world have to say. Mike will take his visits and make the decision that is best for him...and I am still confident that will lead him to Columbus, but we are 11 months away from the next NLOID.

LJB is wearing off on you...

Oh great, I still expect that he chooses OSU but still I was hoping for a very early commit.

You need to find a panic room (without internet access)....

EDIT for CBF40: Remember, nothing is official until the kids sign their LOI's.

I think it is worth reiterating that nothing has really changed with Mike.

The rumors of an early commit did not begin with him, and the fact that he did not verbal yet does not indicate any change in his thinking, or any deviation in the process from his original plan.

He said he was sad to disappoint those that expected him to commit early, but he never planned on doing so; and the fact that he did not verbal yet should not be interpreted as a shift in his thinking. He is sticking to his intended process and continues to maintain OSU leads...so if you are stressed, exhale and step back from the ledge....or go ahead and jump so we don't have to listen to you fret and freak over every shift in the wind.

Mike will be diligent (as he should) before making the final decision, but it would still appear someone is going to have to blow him away to get him anywhere not named Ohio State. It could happen, but it seems it has not happened yet. So be easy.

Mike is being forthright with his comments...so pay attention to his interviews and don't let the grapevine panic you. People who don't know, but are hungry for news sometimes invent something so they have something to talk about. In the case of Mike...he has made his recruitment process clear and will likely stick to that plan. So if you hear anything ask yourself if it fits the program he has advanced. If it doesn't it...dismiss it unless it comes from his mouth (as you should with all recruiting news for any prospect that isn't from a credible/known/cited source).

Any High School kid would have to be nuts to not go through the recruiting process at least for a little while, if not right up until the end. Having major football powers showing you nothing but love has to be amazing.

Exactly...and FWIW, the thought of Adams going anywhere other than OSU has not even crossed my mind. Let this kid enjoy this once in a lifetime experience and then rejoice when he picks OSU.

Like everybody else, I don't think this is anything to worry about (judging by simply by what has been posted here) and even if Mike goes another way, Buckeye football lives on.

But with any heavy leans to home state schools (excl. Glenville kids who's love for the buckeyes is solid and cannot be swayed) a decision go through the process take all 5 visits and evaluate opportunities at other schools is not good news for the home state school.

Our best case scenario is that we stay in the same position we are now, while continuing to expend recruiting effort along the way.

The downside is, that the recruit can be swayed by a great "salesman" at another school with favorable depth chart, better weather, etc.

seems like we have a lot of kids this year believed to be heavy leans that plan to announce on or near NLOID.

I'd like to get these kids in the fold early, but looking around is in definately in their best interest so long as the ship at tOSU doesn't get taken by someone else
