Where's YOUR Gold Pants?
Can ANYONE that watches Criss Angel MINDFREAK on A&E (Wed at 10pm) explain to me how he does some of that shit! I mean it's FREAKY SHIT man! Dude floats 3 ft off the ground on a public street, levitates a total stranger in front of a casino, walks down the side of a casino/hotel building. Walks thru a window pane...this guy is AMAZING! www.crissangel.com

HAYN

When David Blaine does his "levitate off the ground" trick, it's reproduced for TV to make him look a lot higher. In real life, its an illusion (he gets maybe 3 inches off theg round, he does this by finding the right shadows to just raise himself on one leg); on TV he actually has pulleys and actors.

I know, I was pissed too.

I'm not impressed with the David Blaine levitating thing when he does it on TV. Of course, it's just a trick. But he only does the trick with no one in front of him. And the TV camera won't show his feet. Maybe Oneshot is right - pullies and actors.

But one time I saw a trick where he had a dollar bill. And the trick was that he "threw" the dollar bill at a window, and then it was stuck to the other side of the glass. That was pretty cool.

Last night was the first time I watched a Criss Angel show on television and the stuff he was doing was pretty cool, but the levitating shit is crazy. There's gotta be a lot of camera tricks going on or something.

I like the David Blaine street magic better. Blaine's personality and the way he goes about it makes you think he has some super powers or some shit. Criss Angel's show seemed more staged and cheesey.

Both cool though.

David Blaine blows my mind with the stuff he pulls off. A couple instances really come to mind of things that aren't all that epic till I saw them:

1) Biting the quarter in half and then blowing it back together right on camera.
2) Burning the paper with the writing on it, and the smoke puts the word on him or the other person.

Wild stuff.

Yeah those were cool. I also liked the one where he had the guy sign a card and bend the card and he could put it in the middle of the deck and it would jump to the top of the deck in a split second.

Another great one was when he took the diamond out of a ladies ring and then swallowed it and made it pop out his eye.

Or the one where he drops the ladies ring into a sewer grate and then it appears in a bottle about 30 feet from them and they have to break the bottle to get it out.

Or how about the ones where he brought the bird and a fly back to life? Crazy!

Yeah, I like the one where helps this gang of guys to become a cohesive unit, and they take this brown object over 80 yards across this line. All the guys wear this ugly winged type helmet and I believe it distracts you so you don't even notice how they traveled the distance. Amazing, truly amazing....
My bad I hear it is still in production and not ready for prime time, something about one of the guys keeps tripping over his shoe laces, and the head assistant always blaming the former head assistant because he didn't leave enough magic props in the cupboard.......

I hear it has happened a couple of times but the outcome is still inconsistent especially when the show has a lot of Ohio folks in the audience. They are always "pulling back the curtain" and saying things like "check his other hand" and "don't fall for the mis-direction" and other stuff like that......

Now if he could perfect that trick this year in his Columbus performance well I would say he probably is the best magician ever!!! It is funny how all the tricks worked in West Virginia......

If you know how to force a selection (I do it with a playing card) the burning and then wiping the ashes trick is pretty easy. All it takes is some bar soap and.. the ability to force you person to make a certain choice.

I'm not following you. What exactly do you mean?

I think Buckeyeskickbuttocks is THE "Mind Freak"

I, personally am not that good at reading minds or forcing my thoughts into someone else's brain through telepathy, but the one living creature on earth that can read my mind is my dog. One good scraggly eyeball toward my dog and he knows to get the f out of the way. Oh, I also need a bar of soap and a burning 2 of spades to get him to get the hell out of the way.
