Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Ha! Who the bork wrote that article? This line has me confused:

I was unaware that you aren't supposed to be called for fouls on Senior Night. Maybe this Newbill is a senior? The article doesn't seem to say. If he's a senior, he isn't supposed to be called for fouls on Senior Night? Maybe the rest of that paragraph will explain:

That reminds me of the scene from Forget Paris when Billy Crystal ejects Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.....

Mickey: You're out of here, Jabbar!

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Are you nuts? It's my farewell game.

Mickey: Well then, let me be the first to say farewell.

Has any one ever asked the cult about joepa's personal refs back when they were an independent? or would any such post be deleted almost instantly along with a ban. I'm just curious how they rationalize that [Mark May].

On topic with your question (though it doesn't answer your question) is this video:

And of course this one:

Someone should post this on BWI - you'll be automatically loved over there. Notice who the head coach is of the team that benefits from the referees' bad calls.

The Cult is up in arms about Ohio St. requiring up to date vaccinations for the fall semester. In addition to the insightful Cultist who would "...sue the university if they required it. No way In hell I'm putting that garbage In my body," the Buckhunter brings his usual quality reply. After all, if you find yourself getting poked in the ass by something in State College, chances are rather low that it is a measles or mumps vaccine.

SoutheasternPABuck: "PSU has a far more progressive policy. They don't force things like this on students."

Edit: I just noticed that the Buckhunter has apparently shortened his name to just "SoutheasternPABuck." It is apparently the same guy as always, though. He has over 4,500 posts.

How does Penn State (or the BWI board in particular) attract such a concentrated amount of stupidity?

I didn't realize being a moron about one topic required you be a moron about every topic.

And for the record, the Ohio State vaccination policy has the same opt out clauses as the state, so if you are an idiot you can still refuse a vaccination shot for basically any reason your science denying pea brain can think of.

Let's thump our chests about how "progressive" that is.

Once again, for the sake of humanity you have to hope SouthernPABuck is a deep troll and being ironic about that.

Actually I agree with SouthernPABuck on this one. I long for the return of the days where unvaccinated morons like him catch the measles as an adult, causing him to become sterile and therefore become totally unable to pass any of his "moron" genes on to unsuspecting future generations.

Just Sayin.

The Cult is going crazy over the Syracuse scandal and Jim Boeheim's famous "I'm not Joe Paterno" quote from when the Bernie Fine story first broke. There are around a dozen Boeheim/Syracuse threads on the front page of BWI, asking why the Syraucse BoT did not fire him, why Syracuse was not stripped of its 2003 national title, saying Boeheim was the most powerfull man at Syracuse, that he was an enabler, etc.

Hey, quick, look over there at the players smoking weed and getting phony grades. That's even worse than a school covering up children getting raped in the showers on campus.

Their only supporting argument is that he leads the conference in scoring.....which I'm not dismissing, but he also leads the conference in minutes played by a wide margin. He actually sits at 16th nationally, 3rd behind Oliver Hanlan of BC and inexplicably Trevor Cooney of Syracuse for power 5 teams. Outside of a few outliers like Cooney or American landing 3 players in the top 12, sorting by minutes played shows you bad teams who rely on a lone bright spot. Obviously at some point it turns from teams relying on one player to coaches knowing what they're doing by playing their best player a ton and getting success from it, but for the most part you're looking at good players on bad teams playing more because they have to.

Now, I'm not saying he isn't good. He's very good. But who are you going to take off? Certainly not Kaminsky or D'Angelo Russell. Yogi Ferrell is 6th scoring and is a better shooter and passer. Dez Wells, perhaps. But he's on a successful team. He can't take Aaron White's other forward spot. So maybe the 3rd best G in the conference, at least a tie...and they were expecting a POY award for him? And of course if he doesn't get it, everybody is out to get them.

This is more of a general statement, but it certainly applies in this case. I am incredulous of guys who pile up points while playing on bad teams. I understand the difference between a "Most Valuable Player" type award and an all-conference team. But the leading scorer on a bad team means that a guy is going to be playing lots of minutes in garbage time or against the other team's second string.

It's something that needs to be examined on a case to case basis. I think Newbill on a better team wouldn't score as much but would still be a very good player. I just feel like Penn State always has one guy who is any good and a bunch of goobers whose only real job is to give him the ball. Of course your stats are going to be inflated in that situation. Just like Pozlusny. OMG LOOK AT ALL HIS TACKLES. Yeah no shit....nobody else on your team could tackle.
