I think what the defense was (and it is an incredibly shitty one) was that Sandusky didn't do any of it because it would have magically meant he became a pedo in his 50's...in other words, it's the "you're wired with it" defense. So, the writers mean that victims coming from the 70s and 80s would attack the defense because it would mean Sandusky was indeed wired with it and was a pedo long before the 90's...while indeed confirming that one does not become a pedo in their 50's...a rare case of literally turning the defense 180.

Uncalled for

There are doubtlessly many who were abused by Sandusky who have not come forward because they still prefer to live with their own private shame than to make it public. Many of the people who at one time were hoping to keep their secret have now decided to come forward. Some may be doing it for money; others because they wish to pierce the defense's last desperate argument; others simply because of an attack of conscience.

I, for one, am damn glad that I don't have any idea what they're going through or what their motivations might be. I, for one, will not judge.

I have seen the enviroment in Happy Valley..how could you come forward? It took courage and a prosecutor willing to see justice done that brought down this whole sordid mess. Finding a prosecutor who wasn't in Joes back-pocket was amazing to me.

Wow....

So reading on the cult pages that since the report didn't find any evidence of abuse pre 98 that all this new claims are either false or that the report is null and void since it didn't find evidence of the earlier instances.

I'm hoping that when is said and done though that Joe didn't know about anything shady going on pre 98... but if he did.... you might as well close the school down and throw away the key.
