WATCH: Pat Narduzzi makes fun of Pitt media during special film session

Pat-Narduzzi-Pitt-Training-Camp.jpg

Pittsburgh coach Pat Narduzzi has made quite an impact with the Panthers so far, staying in the dorm with the team during training camp and making an extra effort to know the writers who will spend their time covering the program.

Narduzzi apparently invited several members of the media in for a special "film session" to review "practice habits." What those members of the media may not have expected was Narduzzi using the telestrator to review them, not the players on the field.

I think Narduzzi is going to have Pitt competitive in the ACC, and sooner rather than later.
I hope so, but Pitt seems like one of those terminally mediocre programs that can't seem to get out of their own way. A lot of people thought the same of Paul Chryst and they were a .500 program with him. They've had ONE ten win season since the Marino days, under the Wannestache of all people.

If he does manage to make them competitive in the ACC, he'll be hired away posthaste. Hell, if he wins 8-9 games there, I'd bet a major program with a vacancy scoops him up. Pitt is a CFB black hole.

Yep. They had three straight 11-1 seasons from 1979-1981, but since then only three 9-win seasons ('82, '02, '08) in addition to that one 10-win season in 2009. So, they've had four 9+ win seasons in 33 seasons.

Except that OSU didn't necessarily steal his defense, they stole Wisconsin's defense. Urban has even gone on record as saying he had Chris Ash on his short list of potential hires after the way they shut OSU down in Madison in 2012.

This. I remember reading a book by some guy who had a bit of coaching success, his name was Auerbach, in which he openly stated that he'd have to be an idiot to let his own ego keep him from copying whatever coaching innovation someone else had that worked better than what he was doing.

Always nice to have the best X's and O's AND the best Jimmys and Joes. :oh:
