QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

So then the point was that my statement was misunderstood.

JT was being hyped by every outlet as a top 3 Heisman Candidate even through halftime of the tSUN game.

1.25 games later and he's not in the discussion?

Putting Amari in the 3 spot is probably well deserved, but it's only politics that are keeping JT from a trip to NYC.

It's not a stretch to assume that without injury he's there instead of or alongside Cooper.

That's not an inane "what if".
I think you're reaching a little bit. And I'm mainly saying that because of tcu's QB. He should be there as well. But if there's a gap between 3 and 4/5, they don't typically extend invitations.

Reaching with what?

Am I taking crazy pills? Did not every single one of the pundits/polls/rankings have him at a pretty solid #3 behind Melvin and Marcus?

Why would Amari have suddenly jumped him had JT been at the helm of the Wisconsin beating rather than Cardale?

If that's what your going off of, then no you're not taking crazy pills. You're just wrong. He's never been ahead of those 3.

I know for certain he was #3 in a lot of polls after the MSU game. So "never" isn't accurate. He was 3ish late into the season.

I just don't remember Cooper being the seemingly consensus #3 until after JT went down, he may have played himself into it while JT played himself out, but that's neither here nor there...

...my original post on the matter:

I think its laughable JT Barrett didn't even crack the 2nd Team All American.
If he doesn't get hurt and he ends up being the one to put 59-0 on Wisconsin he's getting the invitation to New York instead of Amari.

...so yea, politics.

The ultimate point is that the kid went from a top 5 Heisman candidate to not even second team all-conference from missing 1.5 games. It clearly wasn't performance as much as it was politics.
