QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Troy Smith deserves to be the starter for the Baltimore Ravens for the rest of the season. After watchin Boller the entire game which he had snaps against both Indy 1st and 2nd teamers, he never got any better. Against the 1st team all 1st half he threw for 17 yards. Finally he pushed their offense into the endzone in the 2nd half after having to convert on numerous 4th downs. But when Troy entered the game he took control of the game and their team showed sparks of life. Smith was extremely accurate and showed his same college confidence and ability to keep the play alive. Keeping the play alive while looking down field and leadership puts Troy way past Boller. I don't know why Troy wasn't given a chance sooner in this game and I don't know what Billick has been watching all year but Troy is clearly above Boller's talent ability. This game was over by halftime and the Ravens have no playoff hope at 4-9, Kyle Boller is not the future of the Ravens so why keep throwing him continually in the lineup every week. I just don't understand.

Congrats Troy! So awesome to see him out there again. That smile man...so happy for him! That was a nice little present to wake up to this morning. So glad they had his drive on the net so I could see it!

Buckeye Nation is pulling for you Troy! You deserve your shot!

Very solid drive, I couldn't tell if he over-threw that first pass or if the receiver didn't make a good enough effort. Good to see Troy playing and succeeding. He evaded the rush at least two times and then played some power football by just running into the Colt defenders for that 6 yard score; and he'll only get better.

It was definitely the receiver, and that isn't a biased opinion, merely a simple observation. Figurs was letting up while he entering the end-zone - made no move to the ball by diving or stretching out.

This is Troy's first TD in meaningful competition in just over 12 months.

That is a long drought, but, he had one chance to make it rain, he took it and broke his duck.

Just a side note, but does anyone know if the Raven's are entertaining the idea of drafting another QB?

I've seen the Ravens drafting Matt Ryan on several mock drafts.

They've usually had Atlanta drafting Brohm (obvious choice), and then the Ravens taking one of the top QBs.

Let's hope that Troy gets his chance to make them rethink their draft plans for this Aprill.

I was so glad I actually watched that entire game last night at the end, seeing Troy was nice. He looked like his old self too, Baltimores line broke down, he would move out of the pocket, making the rush miss and even fall down, like he did against scUM so many times

I'd rather Gonzo be getting ready for LSU right now. I was surprised he left early, he could have been number 1 option this yr.
Yeah I wonder how much Gonzo and especially Pittman and Ginn are regretting their decisions. Would like our chances even more with those 3 in the game, money is nice but you only get one..err two chances sometimes to win something as special as the NC game. Is Ginn having more fun playing for an ofer team than he would have had sticking around for one more year?? Only he knows.
