RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, New England Patriots)

I like that he seems to put it on cruise control around the 50 yard line, and the Wisconsin players (mostly number 47) are running at 125% trying to catch him, and can't. Some of the defenders are coming from the edge - defensive backs. Is he really that fast? 47 looks like he might be a linebacker, and he actually makes a good first move on Elliott. He needed someone to hit Elliott in order to catch him within 10 yards, though.

#47 is a LB on Wisconsin's roster.

Just rewatched the play, feels like the gif is sped up. From what I can tell, EzE had too much of a head start for anyone to catch him even though it looks like he lets off the gas a bit. The DBs chasing are actually able to gain some ground.

Yeah Elliott is that fast! State finalist sprinter in HS and also has those sprinter's genes from his mom @Dawn Elliott. And not only does he have wheels, but he has added some good weight as well thanks to coach Mick

Yeah - I noticed that the gif looks sped up, but my comments above are more from watching a replay of the game. I can buy that Elliott is already by the defensive backs before they've even started chasing him. If it takes them 10-15 yards to reach their top speed, he's already 20 yards ahead of them.

Cool. I figured he was more of a Carlos Hyde-type runner. He surprised me with that run.

I think Elliott Is more a combo of Antonio Pittman and Carlos Snow, IMO. Not really like Hyde

I completely understand that this is a given, but the fact that we took EZE over Derrick Green is an absolute blessing. This staff is unreal when it comes to evaluating talent. His name will be up there with Griffin and George by the time his career is over at Ohio State.
You can say that again. I was totally in the camp of giving an offer to Green. This staff's talent evaluation is off the charts!
