Reds Tidbits (2013 Season)

From MLB TradeRumors

Reds general manager Walt Jocketty confirmed that he had spoken to Jeff Francoeur's agents at CSE, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports (via Twitter). "He's talking to other clubs as well. [I'm] not sure it's a fit," Jocketty said. Francoeur is known to have drawn interest from at least two other teams since he was released by the Royals. Francoeur could be a right-handed hitting stopgap for Cincinnati until Ryan Ludwick returns from the DL in August.
Dear Walt,

Now
you need a stopgap in LF? Now?! It took you from Opening fucking Day until July to figure out that gaggle fuck of 5th outfielders wasn't exactly getting it done? What the motherfuck was your first clue Walt?

So now with (supposedly) a month to go until Ludwick comes back you want to go out and give Dusty a loaded gun like Frenchy to shoot us all in the head with? You of all people should know that if you are going to make the mistake of employing Dusty Baker as your teams manager then you must Dusty proof the roster so you can limit the damage he can do.

Yours in pain, despair and perpetual losing,
Jax

There is no facepalm meme that can capture this. The mere fact they have had discussions with Francouers agent that didn't involve Walt being shit faced at 3am is bad enough. If they actually sign that useless bag of shit it will make the Tavaras signing look like a smart gamble.

I despise this fucking organization. They get exactly what they deserve every fucking year.

and speaking of perpetual losing/ignorance this little gem from Fay was at the same link:

Also from Fay, he thinks the strong recent performance of the Reds' bullpen should shift the team's trade deadline focus to hitting instead of relief pitching. Fay opines that the Reds should look to acquire Twins outfielder Josh Willingham, who I'd guess would be too expensive for the Reds' liking (owed roughly $9.35MM through 2014) and is on the DL until August following knee surgery.

:shake:

Uhm John if they are, as you yourself wrote, trying to find a stopgap until Ludwick comes back in August how exactly would trading for another guy on the DL (if you even could do that) until August serve as a stopgap until August? You lost me there bubba.

In case anyone was wondering why we can't score runs to save our life, Zach Cozart has the 3rd lowest OBP in the majors among qualified players. His ISO brings his OPS up to only 13th lowest in the majors. He's hit 2nd in 61 games this season.

Granted our complete inability to hit with RISP and our overall aversion to doing anything ever in a clutch moment certainly help as well. But holy fucking hell I hate Dusty Baker.

He's doing better than I thought he was. On track for a career year it seems.

- B. Phillips singled to shallow left center, S. Choo scored, B. Phillips out at second

Top 2nd: Cincinnati - D. Mesoraco hit sacrifice fly to center, J. Bruce scored, T. Frazier to third

Top 3rd: Cincinnati - B. Phillips grounded out to third, Z. Cozart scored

Top 5th: Cincinnati - J. Bruce grounded out to first, Z. Cozart scored, B. Phillips to second

Even when these assholes manages to score a run, they still make an out.

They had plenty of opportunities to put up some big #'s in a few innings today and failed. They could have easily had 4-5 more runs w/ all the free passes and extra chances they were given. Lack of clutch hitting and too many unproductive outs will be the reason this team fails to make the post season or has a 1st rd exit.

My money is squarely on a playoff miss.

Nats are getting healthier, Teds are a complete fraud.
