Oswho is not a troll. I know him from RP and will vouch for his "legit poster" status.

Judging by his handle and some of his initial posts he has a funny way of ingratiating himself to a board that is very similar to trolling/stirring the pot.

Yeah, I get that. The handle does seem to scream troll at a glance. By all means, argue with him, but he's not here to stir shit for the sake of stirring shit. My voucher doesn't mean I agree with his views

Was just listening to Pat Forde on ESPN radio talking about how Adam Mallett doesn't fit Rich Rodriguez' offense and how he has to transfer.

I must say, this non-stop "Mallett doesn't fit the offense and has to transfer" and "OMG shirtless wonder super-human genetically engineered recruit Terrelle Pryor has to go to Michigan right now because he's a perfect fit" hyperbole that ESPN keeps pushing is really starting to piss me off.

The reports that Pryor was contacted by RR before anyone else (assuming they're accurate) indeed do bother me. I'm at a loss to explain how you ethically rectify that situation when you're still on the old employer's payroll. I earnestly hope that's not a sign of things to come.

If this isn't a NCAA violation (which it may be), can this be a contract violation?

This really sounds like the Joe McKnight story "sorry I misunderstood the Reggie Bush phone call" :roll2: Maybe RR didn't want TP to tell the world...

This has been beaten to death.

Quick answer; it's not an NCAA violation.

See, what you need is a cathartic ESPN led scandal to hit Michigan... after that, you won't give a shit what those idiots say. :wink2:

I find it interesting that everyone has come to the conclusion that RR is going to fail at tsun. The way I see it, Carr has pretty much tried the same thing over and over again hoping for success, that obviously hasn't worked, it's also had the side effect of generally letting the program slide into mediocrity. Dick will bring a new element and a reason to actually watch football at tsun, not to mention he offers a lot of benefits to the conference with his style, we have zook running the spread option, and wiscy seems to run a straight spread offense, having more exposure to this can't be a bad thing.

I don't know if he will fail, I don't know if he will succeed, it's all speculation at this point, but I am thinking he will have more success than anyone wants to think about. He's going to get access to a lot better recruits, he's already got talent there, sure he may have some qualities that we want to criticize, but if he beats tOSU next November he'll suddenly become a "Michigan man." I know this is going to piss some people off when I say this, but all the sewage being spewed in this thread makes me wonder if a lot of people are concerned and just not wanting to admit it? Whether anyone has chosen to acknowledge it or not Illinois gave us trouble in 2006, and beat us in 2007, with a spread that we need to learn to work around. We have top tier talent, far superior to what Illinois has, yet they knew how to stop our pass and move the ball on us, our adjustments just weren't there.

I am looking at it like this, it could be a 5 year flop, it could be another 10-year war, hell it could even be a 1-5 with us looking at Tressel saying "What the hell?" I highly doubt that will happen, but who knows? I am sure no one thought that Michigan would get dominated with Carr like they did, new game plans being brought in will require us to defend them, and it may become instant success that takes us a few years to figure out, or he may get to the last game and just choke it away.

Say what you want about the guy, but I'll be keeping an eye on that team up north next year to see how they look and how they progress through the season.

Good post. I agree with a lot of your points.

I know when Tressel was hired a lot of Michigan fans laughed, they just tried to dismiss him. They tried to find every little fault they could find to try and convince themselves that the domination would continue.

I think there is a group of Ohio State fans doing the same thing with the Rodriguez hire.

Rodriguez is a damn fine football coach. Period. The guy is an innovator who is the "godfather" of the spread option.

Urban Meyer completely out-coached and out-classed Jim Tressel in the National Championship game last year.

Urban Meyer openly says most of what he knows about the spread offense he learned from Rich Rodriguez.

Because scUM fans are fucking idiots

Nope, I laughed at Dick Rod before he went to Morgantown North.

Why he was scUM's 3rd choice again? Tressel won 4 NC's before coming to OSU, whats RR won?

Ahh the transitive property. Always a good choice to base your argument on. :roll1:

Wow. Stay classy man. Is there really any need for that kind of language?Seriously. Ever think there might be some young Buckeye fans on here?

Nope, I laughed at Dick Rod before he went to Morgantown North.

Yup, a guy with a 60-26 (0.698% WP) record at WVU and a 32-4 record over the past 3 seasons is such a scrub. You are right. He sucks.

Oh, and Dick Rod? Really clever there. What are we in the 4th grade or something?

Why he was scUM's 3rd choice again? Tressel won 4 NC's before coming to OSU, whats RR won?

How about he's won 4 Big East titles and a BCS bowl win over Georgia at WVU.

At Glenville State he won 4 WVIAC Championships, and 1 NAIA National Championship.

At Tulane as the offensive co-ordinator and QB's coach he ran a record setting offense that helped Tulane go 12-0 in 1998.

If you want to get technical, he was probably their 4th choice as Bill Martin talked to Ferentz, Miles, and Schiano first.

Who cares what choice he was? Tressel wasn't Ohio State's first or second choice, and Pete Carroll wasn't USC's first, second, third, or fourth choice. Those hires seemed to work out pretty well for OSU and USC.

Well if arguably the best coach in the country says that he learned his offense from Rich Rodriguez shouldn't that say something about Rodriguez' abilities?

scUM has hired Herb Tarlek

If he keeps getting grafts his hair will look like that soon enough unless JT makes it fall out

Its just so unfair that Rodriguez suddenly gets the 25 best recruits in the country because he is at Michigan and everyone else in the Big Ten has to start recruiting on a Big East level. I mean really, how in the world are we supposed to compete when his players are just so much better than ours?

Just like you, they shouldn't be here then.

and big game chokes in each of those past 3 years, you never seem to get around to mentioning that part.

funny coming from a guy with that handle

Listen, you show up out of the blue insulting OSU and pimping RR like he's the second coming then get all pissy when some one calls your bullshit. In typical scUM arrogance you think we are bashing him because he's a scUM coach now, we're just jealous. If you look back through it most here didn't think much of him before he jumped ship for AA and were quite happy with the hire. You think he's your savior, we think he's a clown. Time will tell.

As for you I say you are nothing but a troll with that handle and showing up to talk shit after you get a new coach but never hide nor hair of you before that. I know BKB has vouched for you but we all make mistakes.
