S/LB Tyler Moeller (official thread)

Thanks again for the update H&G.

I honestly think that Moeller is going to be a stud. He may be undersized now, but he will continue to work hard int he weightroom and when he gets here he could be a force.

Hey H&G I am just curious if there has been any Safety talk at all. I personally want him to play OLB, but if we could get Johnson, Homan, Gibson on the field at once and then have Moeller at safety that is like having four lbs on the field. I dont envision seeing teams running very well on that D.

Also I am sure he will redshirt, but has a decision already been talked about here, or do you know what the coaches have told him about pt next year.

The staff has told him that the best and smartest players play...period. Tyler was considering enrolling for the summer quarter and getting on campus to start working but, from my understanding, the coaches told him that there is little difference between June and August and pointed to Larinitus as an example of a kid who came in August and learned they system.

There has been no talk of Safety at this time from either side. Its OLB...but on yappi.com and a few posters here see him as a safety and, honestly, that does not sit well with Ty. He's a LB and is dead set on proving it.

So what you're saying is that if BP wants to really help support Moeller in his quest to become a great OSU lber, we should give him ammo by putting him in as many boxes as we can find, right?

thx for the info H&G.

Thanks again. I love his mentality. This lb class is going to be awesome with Moeller feeling he has something to prove and Homan also as he is coming from a small schoool, and they always seem like they have that chip on thier shoulder, then to round it out we have Gibson who is a future star and same can be said about Johnson.

I think Tyler just has "it", he has a good head on his shoulders and is working as hard as he can to be a stud at tOSU.

Agreed. I can't remember being so excited about the potential of all of our incoming LBs (even in the D'Andrea, Hawk, Carp, White Jr. class).

Moeller, Homan and Gibson were all dominant forces in the state of Ohio, and when you think about Johnson and Grant as well, it just seems too good to be true. These young men seem too good not to see the field early on, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Moeller headline that talented incoming group.

H&G,

Has Tyler finally come to accept the fact he is too slow, too small, too poor of a tackler and hits like a michigan fan to play LB at The Ohio State University?

(I so want to see this kid spreading chaos on the field for four strong seasons at OSU)

:osu:

Holy crap! Can you imagine our kickoff coverage team next year with Moeller, Gibson, Homan, Johnson, Grant, Schwartz, and Coleman running downfield at full speed looking for someone to detonate?

I'm envisioning a repeat of the opening kickoff of the 2002 season, when true freshman Bobby Carpenter made a solo tackle around the TT 10 yard line, foreshadowing great things to come from him.

Well, Tyler has signed...so I can now tell this quick little story. ( I promised that I would not tell it until signing day)

We all know Iowa and VT offered Tyler....

What most of you don't know is...

The night before Tyler became a Buckeye he received a call from the LB coach at tsun.
All of a sudden and out of the blue they found a free scholarship to offer Tyler!
Tyler's reply lasted all of 5 seconds. "I'm comitting to Ohio State tomorrow. But thanks, anyway!"

End of conversation.

How many Buckeye fans ever dreamed of being offered a scholarship from both schools and having the pure pleasure of telling tsun 'NO!'?

in any event, I promised my 'source' that I wouldn't post that until signing day.
