Saturday Superstitions ... Game Day Prep

If you are like me you know damn well that every Buckeye Victory in the fall is in your hands. Everything you do from the moment you get up Saturday morning till the final whistle will ultimately decide the outcome of that days game:crazy:So what do you do on Saturdays in the fall for a Buckeye Victory?

Wife and I both basically play musical chairs. This recliner, that recliner, the sofa in the living room, the sofa in the three-season room, on the floor, holding kids, not holding kids.

Whatever we're both doing at the time the going gets good, we're stuck doing that until the end of the game.

First, I wake up.

Then, I make some coffee.

After that, I may make breakfast, or head out to get breakfast.

If there is time between the end of breakfast and the game, then I do errands/stuff around the house until game time.

Watch the game.

When the game is done, I find something else to do. This usually consists of drinking the rest of the beer and flipping through channels when it is a late (afternoon/night) game, or do more stuff around the house while drinking the rest of the beer if it is an earlier (noon) game.

Lame, I know, but it has been my routine on game days for a long time now. (Ugh, I feel old.)

I never wear my #7 jersey during the game anymore. Before or after the game is fine, but never during. I put on my BuckeyePlanet gear and OSU lounging pants for the game or if its cold, add the OSU snuggie. Food and chairs in the house doesnt really matter.

During The Game. Never watch it in public. Watching it in private, by myself or if with other people, they all have to be Buckeye fans. NO EXCEPTIONS

This. Or pacing infront of the TV.

If I'm at the shoe, I tailgate, get drunk but not too drunk.

At the game I cheer my ass off. I am glass half full guy.

I'm usually not the guy pointing out every hole and wide open reciever.

After the game as long as I brought some 5 hour energys i'm down for more drinking and watching other games. If it's a loss I may just go back to my hotel/friends house and sleep or watch other games and avoid highlights of the OSU game.

LMAO @ All of These! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

My day starts with the alarm playing Buckeye Battle Cry.

Then it's a cup of coffee...and a homemade breakfast while listening to the ultra smoov sounds of the Dead Schembechlers.

After a shower it's time for Beer. I usually have about 4 kinds of beers in the fridge so I crack one open..if it tastes right..that's the beer of the day...if not I move to the next.

Clothes..obviously the toughest decision of the day. Whatever feels right for starters..I'd say about 3rd of my closet is Buckeye gear. If the team is playing well...then those stay on if not...it's changing time..whatever I'm wearing when we win becomes the following weeks starting attire.

There are a few "Special" items that get brought out as the team needs it. You have the Spielman, Griffin, and T. Smith Jerseys which will be thrown on when it's required by the flow of the game. Also I have a grey faded as hell Buckeye Football T that was given to me before the 2002 season...you know it still has some major MOJO.

Hats...I have plenty of them..these might be changed on a per play basis as needed.

The bathroom...not if I can help it.

The TV channel never changes during the game..not even during commercials. If by some freak accident the channel does get changed...well I won't even try to explain how far around the horn I have to go..but let's just say I suffer greatly for letting it happen.

Win or lose..it's out in public in full Buckeye Gear...amazing how idiotic Purdue fans can get.

There must be something tOSU related on/near my person at all times, at least until the end of the game. Whether that's a hat, shirt, pants, the glass my drink is in...something has to be tOSU logo/related. If a hat is on, it tends to get thrown or taken off and bent like crazy at least once a game.

Other rituals...blaring TBDBITL prior to kickoff if at home, if in the car on my way to a place to watch the game and the weather is good enough, the windows might go down to share the wonderful sounds (particularly if I spot a scUM driver with their window down  ). Restrooms are visited only during timeouts/commercial breaks, and if in the company of other Buckeye fans, O-H I-Os are thrown around after every scoring drive.

If something is somehow missed during the course of a Saturday game day, I start getting nervous and try to remedy the situation in any way I can.
