Scheduling Night Games in the Big Ten

We have played about one night home game a year, usually against a Big Ten team. Not since 2004 against a Big Ten team.

I don't recall too many night games at the Shoe. USC and Texas, maybe?Big Ten ROAD games if you compared to bucky including 2010: Ohio State will have played 12 times at night ON THE ROAD to UW 3.

And of those twelve road Big Ten games only two started at 7pm ET and the rest at 8 or 9pm.

This year Wisconsin played at night at UNLV, last year at Hawaii, and two years ago at Fresno State we played other night games. Four or five years ago we played a night white out game against Penn State. Got killed too.

UNLV, Hawaii, and Fresno State aren't in the Big Ten. As for your Penn State road game where you "got killed", your 35-14 loss there in 1995 was a day game (can't find the start time, but game photos and mention of a clear sky in the recap show it was a day game), and your 38-7 loss there in 2007 was a 3:30 start.

The bone we have to pick is that Wisconsin wants to play conference night games at their place while refusing to return the favor.

I have a hard time believing that if TV wanted a night game and the conference wanted the TV revenue, that any school- OSU, PSU, Michigan, Iowa, MSU, Wisconsin -- would have the final say.

...and I have a hard time believing that TV only wants to televise the OSU vs. Wisconsin game at night when that game is in Madison. As a related point, I have a hard time believing TV is not interested in televising any road game for Wisconsin at night. Something else is obviously at play here, such as what OSU Buckguy posted.

Not that Evanston is a tough place to play, but it's still a road night win in the Big Ten for Penn State.

Nobody is talking about them, and everyone is writing them off as a bad team, but they are 7-1 and the only team with a perfect record in our division.

Their offense all of a sudden came alive today. McGloin is obviously the right guy to lead that offense. And Silas Redd is a very good back.

They have Illinois at home next week, a game they should win, and then a bye week before playing Nebraska at home. Another game that looks winnable for this team.

I know this thread is about Big Ten night games...but I really wish we could get rid of that November rule, and schedule one when they come to Columbus. Because I would not be surprised at all if Penn State is 9-1, in first place in the Big Ten, and close to cracking to top 10 when they roll into Columbus.

The game will likely be a 3:30 game, with the second half at night...but if the Big Ten would wave that damn November rule this game would definitely be an 8pm start, and a big advantage for the Buckeyes.

Just off the top of my head....I'm almost certain I'm missing some...

USC - 2009
Penn State - 2008
Texas - 2005
Washington - 2003
NW - 2001
UCLA - 2000

Game was at UCLA, in 2001, and I believe it was a day game.

EDIT - It was a 3:30 EST/12:30 PST game.

Looks like he was referring to the 1999 game here.

Yeah - Bellisari was throwing that fade pass really well. That game basically kept Moherman at 2nd string the rest of the year.

Wasn't that the game when Ohio State ran a reverse and Bellisari laid a killer block on a defensive player?
