Sharrif Floyd, a 6-foot-3 and 310-pound senior at George Washington High in Philadelphia, is one of the top defensive linemen in the nation. Floyd was named the MVP of the TEST Sports Clubs Premier Showcase in June and won the Maxwell Award at Football University in the same month, earning an invite to the prestigious Top Gun camp in July. With dozens of college offers to choose from, Floyd will announce his decision during Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

I can't remember the last time I've been this frustrated.

I am in San Antonio to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and we've got a pretty nice player's lounge at the Grand Hyatt, maybe the nicest hotel I've been in. And one of the coaches' sons keeps beating me in Madden. This isn't good.

Other than that I'm having a good time. I flew in from Philadelphia on Sunday and practice was good on Monday, a bit low key but we're getting to know each other. I got fired up in practice the other day. I want to see intensity out there, and I think we lost a bit of focus. We're here to win and we're going to be playing on national television. We're always reminded that there is 10 years of tradition in this game and I want us to bring a warrior's mentality out there.

I want to be a captain of this team. I want to lead and inspire. The captain is the man you turn to, whether you are up or down. I've wanted it since the season ended. I want to be a captain in this game.

So, I'm looking forward to some of the chill time and just hanging out with the players at the Grand Hyatt. This place has so much to do and great places to hang, we're definitely set up like kings here. I spend a lot of time with the guys, just hanging and talking about colleges. Some of them, like me, will make their decision live during the game. I'm down to four schools -- Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina and South Carolina.

I told a few of them my decision. A couple were surprised, but they could tell that I fell in love with the place. They know that this school, well, it's a program that will stand the test of time.

A few of them told me where they are going to go, too. Some interesting choices out there.

This is going to be a fun few days.

Florida has only raisin to national prominence in last 4/5 years. Before that they were a 2-3 type team if not worse...

They did have a NC in the 90's. I wouldn't say they have risen to national prominence in the last 4 or 5 years. More like the last 20.

If he has informed people of his choice, I am surprised there is not a strong consensus on where he is going. Normally that leaks out.

To me it's Ohio State or Florida. I think the kids he shared his commitment with was more surprised that he chose Ohio State over Florida. Just my two cents.

More opportunity to speculate! Well--if it actually is a program to stand the test of time it is between us an Florida.

Would either actually be a surprise? Perhaps not going to Florida would be a surprise since they are the "hot program."
