The average fan down here does not burn down his town or turn over cars when their team wins. That is a Yankee thing. But I digress.

GMAFB. I thought that someone who is always pointing out the hyperbole in other members' posts would be smart enough to recognize it in his own. I guess I was wrong.

Further, I thought that someone whose fellow fanbase members produced this lunacy

would be smart enough not to throw stones. Again, I guess I was wrong.

PLEASE. An isolated case of civil dispute that happens to make the paper is a bit different than something like....oh I don't know....this

The Ohio State Football Experience Summed up In One Picture and Quote :Major League Jerk

Ohio State hopes so and says it has learned its lesson from big matchups such as the Texas game in 2005, in which cleanup crews found several soiled shorts and a few coolers filled with poop

Is what you linked not also an "isolated case?" Or by saying that the two situations are "a bit different," have you convinced yourself that happens every weekend at OSU in a feeble-minded attempt to conclude that OSU fans are less civilized than those down South?

Back to the original point, Gator said that the "average fan" up here "burns down his town or turns over cars when his team wins." My point was that is no more true than an OSU fan claiming that the "average fan" in the South bites his or her spouse while arguing about a football game. His original post was ridiculous, and I was simply pointing out that there are idiots in each fan base--that his is no different; to imply that the few outliers are "average fans" (his words, not mine), is preposterous. Like I said, I guess I gave him too much credit when I assumed that he could see that. Here's a tip--you might want to make sure you thoroughly comprehend a post and its meaning next time before you try to heroically step in and protect your brethren. And thanks for proving my point with respect to Georgia fans, by the way.

Let me sum it all up here.

There are idiots in every fanbase. Check. There are always going to be idiots in every fanbase. Check. The fanbase that doesn't have at least a few idiots probably isn't a legitimate fanbase. Check.

Urban Meyer is an absolute poser, used car salesman-like, artificial, do-whatever-it-takes, sleezebag. Check. I can't help it. He's the ONLY coach in the whole country who makes my skin crawl.

A) I think better of people who get so drunk they shit in a cooler than I do of people who thump a bible in one hand and deal kids a crooked deck from the other.

B) If we are going to accept that a picture can sum up the southern experience I'll offer up this one.

I haven't bothered to count but at a glance it seems hate groups must be pretty damn fast considering where the vast majority are from.

Those two are a close 2nd & 3rd, but there is definitely something about Meyer that really gets me. Maybe it's him playing the Christian faith like he cares. Maybe I'm being unfair here, but I think using faith as a false tool to reel in recruits and love on them (i.e. Tebow) is disgusting. I have never seen a side of him that would suggest he is half the believer that the media likes to sell him as.

And I want to check my bag of Cheetos for a Jesus figure.
A couple, Dan and Sara Bell, from Dallas, Texas were ready to leave town when they decided to buy a 99-cent bag of Cheetos and finally found Jesus as ridiculous as it may sound.
My head hurts..

Sentence structure thing. When the Saints won the NFC after a zillion years nobody burned anything. Same as winning MNCs for southern pro or college sports. I did not mean to say that the "average" fan up there burns and overturns [censored]. I meant to say that burning and overturning [censored] is not how we celebrate, and it is not an unusual occurrence up North.

Sorry for the lack of clarity. Consider the comment I was replying to and the possibility that I was [censored]ed and not the best at clarity.

Naw, you just do it when a coach leaves, or is Tennessee no longer a part of the South?

Of course why overturn things when you can just kill people....
