Last year when I came here and offered congrats, I still had hope for the future, and I could at least say my pathetically crippled Michigan team scratched and clawed and gave it their all against a clearly superior opponent.

Today...not so much. Looked like OSU against a MAC team. I know you guys (obviously) enjoyed the game, and congrats on the win...just hope one day we can return to some form of competitiveness. :(

Good luck in your bowl game, fellas.

Cool avatar.

EF, what are your thoughts on RR? Is Brandon going to make a change?

My thoughts are, it's time to concede the last three years as a sunk cost and end this experiment before it gets even worse, if that's possible.

As for what's going to happen...who knows. Brandon's a politician, I don't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. He says he's locked in to not making any kind of evaluation until after the bowl game. So I dunno. There are already (of course) all kinds of rumors floating around about what's going on.

Personally, I don't see how he can bring him back. SO much negativity, SO much venom being openly spewed. I don't see how he can be brought back under these conditions. It's almost inconceivable how terrible things have gotten.

would you guys have preferred to go to the Rose bowl? Or is getting to a BCS bowl the same in your eyes? Just curious how it's viewed upon.

Rose Bowl would have been preferred, no doubt. I think that game holds a special place in the heart of any Big Ten football fan. I'm going to sound spoiled when I say this, but the other BCS bowls feel like a consolation prize.

Even worse than what Lloyd was experiencing in his final year?

Not even on the same planet. After Lloyd lost to App. State and Oregon, former players organized a huge rally for the current team outside Michigan Stadium before the Notre Dame game. Outside of Rick Leach, I can't think of one former player that doesn't despise RR. And I haven't heard from Leach in over a year.

RR is openly hated by a large portion of the Michigan fanbase now. At the start of the season I would say he still had a favorable approval rating (talking in Presidential terms here). Now? If you polled every Michigan fan, I'd be surprised if he broke 30%.

I disagree. Playing TCU is a lose/lose. I would much prefer to be in the Sugar Bowl against an SEC team. It's time to get that goddamn monkey off our back.

Rose Bowl is nice, but mainly for the Big 10/Pac 10 tradition. Having to play some non-AQ pretender is BS, IMO.

That said, Wisconsin beat us fair and square, and we will cheer them on in their bowl game. However, if that seven-chinned fatty Bulimia gets bitch-slapped on national TV, I won't be too upset. :wink2:

Now let's hope the Big Ten have a great showing in ALL their bowl games - even scUM!!!

Not getting a shot at the title is the kicker. I'm not really upset about the Rose Bowl as long as we end up in the BCS, especially since we were just there last season.
