Played Longaberger yesterday from the tips. Hit the ball descent but didn't score well. Shot 83 with a double on 9 a triple on 17 and a double on 18. Take away those three holes and the score looks a lot better. Course is amazing, as always.

Played for the first time in about a month this afternoon and had one of my all time best rounds. The course isn't that difficult, but 4 over is 4 over. I was only 1 over on the front, but then I had a couple of 3 puts on the back.

Shot 78 today. I just cannot stop the blow-up holes. I had my first eagle of the year today. The first hole at my club is an extremely short par 5, about 490 yards. I hit driver, 8-iron to about 9 feet and drained the putt. Missed my 6 foot birdie putt on 2, then blew up on 3. Birdie the 4th, then went 6-4-6 to end the front. Shot 40. Par the 10th, then back to back birdies on 11 and 12. Horrid approach shot on 13 and unable to get up and down made for a 5. Birdied the par 3 14th. So 2 over after 14, get to the long par 5 15th and hit a decent drive. Unable to get home in 2 I decide to hit a 4-iron and leave a pitch in. Well I hook my 4-iron into the traps along the right side of the fairway. Leaves me about 100 to the flag, however I have a horrible lie. The ball was about 2 feet to the right of the side lip of the bunker. I could not stand in the bunker, which meant the ball was below my feet and I had to stretch to swing. Well I had no confidence at all and barely made contact with the ball, end up topping it into the next bunker. I fly that shot over the green and take 3 strokes to get in the hole, for a 7. So back to 4 over. 16 is a short par 4 with water all down the right side, take out a 3 iron and hook that into the only fairway trap. I have about 100 yards to the flag and have to carry the water, also the green is very small. Well end up flying the green. As I said the green is small so I have to land my chip in the rough and hope it bounces on and rolls out. Well never gets out of the rough. I get up and down from there and take a bogey. 17 is a tricked up par-5 which I am able to par. 18, I hit a decent drive--have a 9-iron into the flag, yet I push it right and cannot get up and down--making a bogey. Would of loved to been able to play the last 4 holes over.

Had my boys bach party/scramble yesterday in the morning. was hitting the Driver like a freak. won both long drive holes by 30yds. had 4 drives over 300yds in the middle of the fairway. longest was 340yds. this is going by the card and markers. hole was 490 and i was next to the 150 marker in the middle of the fairway. it was unreal. Lost the scramble by 2 storkes. we couldnt putt. 4 of us couldnt make 5 -6 footers 4 times.

Geez. Going to Saddlebrook in two weeks for my annual middle-aged degenerate golf/poker/drinking/steak consuming/single mom dancer supporting weekend.

My game is non-existent. I'm thinking of just spending the next two weeks at the range hitting my 220 yard rescue iron, my three wedges, and putting.

What would you do if you had two weeks to prepare and had not played in a year?......besides bring money to pay my Wolf and skins gambling losses.

Well, Gator, you could invent a game where you played golf, but got to reduce your score by a stroke a beer. So if you're playing crappy golf, you could drink, or vice versa if you were lightin' 'em up. You might find that you could place if your wooden leg was working.....or leave your wallet at home.

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: Besides you southern gentlemen (SECers) cannot count to 25 anyway (always having 30 schollies out)...

Just bought the TaylorMade 58* TP xFT Wedge today. I lost my old Cleveland wedge last year, and I've been playing all year with my approach wedge being my most lofted club. My buddy let me hit his xFT last time out, and I fell in love with it. Anyone else have any experience with them?

The last few weeks i've been in a huge slump and not sure why. I was shooting around a 45-47 on 9 consistently, but the last few weeks i've blown up and shot 50-53. Anyone else experience these slumps during the season? Or have any tips on how to get out of one? We play every Weds for a work golf league.

Was going to ask you the same... I play R9-TPs and I still have an Orlimar sand in my bag because I've never found a wedge I like better. I know that there has to be a better club than a 15-year old tri metal wedge... but I've yet to find it. Please let us (me) know how you like that club.

I took it to the range last night and I love it! On the practice green I was able to generate some spin (which I couldn't do before no matter what the lie) from the rough. There are two different face plates you can put in it. You can use the cc face or the z groove which is still legal for non competition rounds until 2024. I have the cc face and like I said, I was still getting a lot of spin. Best wedge I've ever hit.
