The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

I think you just made the case that only two teams should be in the playoff, not 8.

This year is not every year; otherwise, just go back to the BCS system.....and strip away our 2014 national title at the same time. You can't have a floating number of teams based on how many truly deserve to be in. Is it 2 this year, 3 a couple of years ago, 6 in 2014. Eight is the perfect number because while you'll certainly have teams that really don't belong, but you'll never have a year where a team that has earned it gets left out. 5 P5 champs, highest ranked G5 and 2 at-large. First round games at top 4 seeds home fields.

BTW...it’s fucking horseshit if the “committee” ranks anyone anywhere to avoid a game...meaning, if they would rank Notre Dame 3 otherwise, but “no one wants to see them play Clemson a third time”, then it’s not a legitimate ranking, it’s bullshit matchmaking

I'm curious about what made you think it was ever anything else? Priority one is the almighty dollar.

The playoff appeased the masses because "BCS" became a cuss word. But these semifinal matchups are about a lot more than any "legitimate ranking".

I'm fine with avoiding rematches provided it doesn't knock anyone out of the playoffs. In the case of this year, I think it's pretty clear that not wanting a bama-aggy rematch made the domers' selection inevitable. That's bullshit. Then again, it's bullshit too that the juggalos were never really in the discussion for the 4 spot.

Easy call. Forget about "body of work" by teams like A&M, these are the match-ups that'll bring eyeballs to TVs. Jimbo never had a chance.
Yeah, fuck him...of course they will point to this year as the excuse to put 2 SEC teams into every future playoff...”but remember that one year when AtM didn’t get in?”

I personally want to punch Reece Davis right in his smug little face. How many times can you slam a six game OSU team in a series of questions to the committee chairman?

And by the way, name me one conference team that would have beaten the Buckeyes this year. Go ahead. I’ll wait. But even if we run the Big 10 table and go 11-0, that shit bag would still say we played a weak schedule.

And this right here is the crux. I mean, fuck Jimbo Fisher...but if AtM has lost by what Florida lost by last night, do they get in? If they hadn’t played Bama yet, do they get in? If Clemson was 1 instead of 2, do they get in?

The whole thing is corrupt as fuck.

He only gets his handy from Desmond if he asks the right questions...
